No sooner said than done: together with the Germanshe just launched the first one“Sea Full of Stars”-Capsule-Collection,consisting of two lace underwear sets in black and petrol, available up to cup size G. A whole joint collection will follow in spring 2025. Palina Rojinski spoke openly and honestly to GLAMOR about her motivation for her first lingerie collection, the challenges of buying a bra as a woman with large breasts and her own self-image.
GLAMOUR: Palina, how did you decide to design your own bra?
Palina Rojinski: It has always been my dream to design a perfectly fitting bra. Especially for me with a larger bust size and a small underbust circumference, the selection is often very limited. I've painstakingly put together my own bra collection - whenever I'm in other countries or cities, I go to underwear stores in the area
Hoping to find a bra that is beautiful and at the same time shapes your breasts well.
... you're probably speaking from the heart of other women with a lot of bust size.
In fact, when I meet women who have a little more, one of the first conversations I often have is: “Hey Palina, sorry for the intimate question, but: What kind of underwear, sports bras and swimwear do you wear?”
What challenges do women with large breasts face when buying a bra - and how did you solve them in your designs?
The main problem is of course the fit. Many bras for larger busts are flattening or offer little support where it is really needed. When it comes to bra design, people often just scale up a small cup without thinking about the changing requirements of a larger breast. That's why I've always turned down other lingerie brands when they wanted to design a collection with me - but Triumph really addresses the different needs of larger breasts.
In addition to the fit, the straps are of course important. I've often had bras where the cups fit well, but the straps were so thin that they cut in uncomfortably and could barely hold the breast. Or they were so wide that they looked grandma-like. The straps of my capsule collection are now designed to be extra pretty, so that they are welcome to shine through the look.
Do you think wearing nice underwear does something to your self-image?
Total! I was going through a phase where I had so much to do and often put myself aside. But I know that when I take a little time for myself, I just feel better and that helps with everything I have to do. So when I put on particularly pretty underwear, I honor my body and go through the day with a different attitude. With beautifulI signal to myself that I am worth a lot to myself - and that is a very important positive affirmation.
Underwear always comes with itmale gazeassociated...
Wow, yes. I had an interview with a guy recently and he asked me about future projects. And since I'm so excited about it, I named my underwear collection. My association with it were keywords like: finally beautiful lingerie for large cups! This will give women full support! You save time because you know, finallyThe man's association was, figuratively speaking, more like a drooling “Underwear? Cool!". Then I just thought to myself: This isn't about you at all. Sure, there's nothing wrong with wearing nice underwear for a date or for your partner, but I designed it for us women! It's about thatwefeel comfortable in our bodies. It was a long journey for me too...
So haven't you always been as confident as you are today?
(shakes head)Not at all! Of course my breasts are so big, and when they started growing in my teenage years, my external and internal worlds were two completely different poles. I was still very childlike inside, but whenever I wore a tight tank top, I was sexualized without asking by those around me. Also from women. I constantly felt like I had to apologize for my big breasts.
Did this external perception also play a role in the start of your career?
Total. The roles and shoots that were initially offered to me were all in a “Playboy” direction. It's extreme how someone tries to impose a certain projection image on you based on your body. I consistently rejected anything that had that flavor.
The representation of different body types is still a big topic in both entertainment and fashion today. Do you see any progress there?
When I look at social media, advertising campaigns or even the catwalks, I see a greater variety - even if I would still wish that a body type like me could be seen more internationally without being like that is mystified.
At the same time, however, I notice that a cult of being very thin is emerging again. Especially because of the popularity of [the drug used as a weight loss injection]It's striking how many stars are currently losing weight... On the one hand, we're developing, but on the other hand, we're not. Health should always come first!
