Weed killers made of vinegar and baking powder
With a mixture of vinegar and baking powder, you can also effectively combat weeds. Thanks to its acidity, vinegar burns the leaves of weeds. The sodium bicarbonate contained in the baking powder dries out plants through its salt content.

This also kills microorganisms in the ground. Due to the deteriorated soil quality, normal plants often suffer. However, it can take a long time before the ground has recovered from such a treatment. The groundwater can also be burdened by such home remedies.
Ingredients:
- 1 liter of water
- 200 g Backpulver
- 40 ml of white vinegar
Application:
Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and then easily wet the weed. Make sure that you do not hit your normal plants or flowers. Wait until the weeds stunted and then pull it out of the earth with an weed knife. The mixture should be used once a year.

Better than weed killers: prevent weeds
Instead of just fighting the existing weeds, you can also take measures that it does not spread at all. With these tips you prevent the annoying green:
1. Use ground cover
Like hazel root, elf flowers, ivy or Ysander are green all year round and also look pretty. They also help to keep weeds away. Because they prevent light from getting to the ground-the weed drives cannot develop so well.
2. Use weed fleece
A very effective solution is also weed fleece (you get on Amazon*). You put this out in your bed over a large area before you put the desired plants in it. First of all, you have to decide where your plants should be placed and then cut X-shaped openings into the fleece.
Your plants get light from above and moisture from below, but the weeds do not get through. By the way, it also works if you want to protect paving stones and Co. from weeds.
3. Cover free areas
Do you have exposed beds? Then covers them with straw or bark mulch. So no light comes to the earth and the weeds cannot develop. If you have a footpath with many cracks and joints, you can sweep sand into these gaps to keep the herb away.
