Instead, they recommend a varied diet plan without ready meals and sugary sweets. You should choose a variety of foods that contain bacterially degradable complex carbohydrates.

A gluten-free diet only helps with celiac disease

Celiac disease is a genetic disease that affects around one percent of the population in Europe. Whether someone will actually develop celiac disease depends on several factors. Babies born by cesarean section or babies born from an early agewith antibioticshave been treated are generally at greater risk. But an unhealthy diet can also be the trigger in adults. The person affected should then maintain a strict diet for the rest of their life. Manufacturers have now noticed the increase in patients with celiac disease and have developed special gluten-free or low-gluten products accordingly.

However, this is not recommended because a diet without gluten often cannot supply the body with all of the important trace elements, minerals and vitamins. Scientist at theColumbia Medical Universityhad even conducted a study and found a connection between certain heart problems and a gluten-free diet. Healthy people should therefore not completely avoid gluten; wholemeal bread and potato salad should be included in the daily menu at least 2-3 times a week.
