Mariah Carey has already broken all records with her hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” in the Guinness Book

Bow down to the queen of Christmas songs – Mariah Carey. Guinness World Records last week awarded the pop singer three records for her 1994 song “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” The world record stands for female solo artist and most played track on Spotify in 24 hours, as well as the most weeks in the UK Singles Top 10 chart for a Christmas song.

Mariah Carey's triple record

The pop star celebrated the news with photos of herself on Instagram last Monday. She was dressed in an appropriately sparkly "Nutcracker" outfit and was accompanied by her two children. The little ones looked equally festive in their red and green attire. The singer received the awards during a show in Las Vegas on her “All I Want for Christmas Is You” tour.

“Thank you Guinness World Records for honoring us with three records in the 2020 book!” said the pop star. She signed the snow-covered family photos on stage. “Michael from Guinness World Records presented me with a certificate on stage. So of course I asked him to join us for the #AllIWantForChristmasIsYou finale!”

The pop icon's successes are recorded in the book "Guinness World Records 2020 Edition". She also holds the record for the most number one singles by a solo artist in the US, having had 18 of her tracks top the US charts. This placed them ahead of Elvis Presley, who holds the record for the most top singles by a male solo artist in America. The organization also named her “Songbird Supreme” for her famous voice, which features a rare five-octave range.

News about the singer

Earlier this month, Mariah gave Carey the first gift of Christmas with a new music video for her seasonal classic. This features previously unseen footage from their original Winter Wonderland shoot. So she wasted no time during the holiday season and released the video just a day after Halloween in honor of the catchy tune's 25th anniversary.

The 2019 “All I Want for Christmas Is You” tour runs in Las Vegas through November 30th before heading east to Atlantic City, NJ. Washington DC, Boston, New York and other cities will follow. The “Merry Christmas Deluxe Anniversary Edition” is available now.
