It is recommended to first sand the wooden panel and then oil it or possibly stain it in any color. The next step is to print out the selected template on paper. Alternatively, you can draw a beautiful motif yourself. Actually only the contours are required.
Make thread pictures yourself in large format: DIY tips
If you want to make a fairly large thread picture yourself, then the motif should also be the same size and perhaps larger than DIN A4. If the template cannot be printed on a printer due to its size, you can use a beamer or digital projector to project the selected template onto the wooden board and scale it to the desired size. Then use a pencil to draw the shape directly onto the wood.
Place the template in the middle and possibly fix it in the correct position with some adhesive tape. Then you can start hammering in the nails. It is recommended to get new, small nails, for example 2 cm in size, with beautiful nail heads. Now start hammering the nails into the wooden panel along the outer lines at even intervals on the template. Ultimately, all nails should be stuck equally deep into the wood so that they look beautiful and decorative. Then you remove the template from the wood. Small pieces of paper can be quickly removed with tweezers. The next step is to stretch the string around the nails.
Name plate for wall decoration
When looking for string or yarn for the picture, not only the color should be taken into account. If the yarn is too thin, the motif will end up not showing off at all. Embroidery threads and decorative cords are perfect for this craft project and are also available in a wide variety of colors.
To stretch the thread, start from bottom to top or from left to right. First you make a loop around the first nail and tie it tightly. Then you wrap the entire outside line and then crisscross over the other nails. How exactly you guide the thread depends primarily on the respective motif.
If you want to create a curved line, you should also run the thread around the outside. For lines that curve inwards, run the thread the opposite way along the inside. Even if it sounds very complicated at first, it is a certain procedure that you get used to after a few minutes. It is recommended to place a loop around some of the nails to give the thread structure stability.
