So that the children do not get bored on rainy or cold days, they have to come up with something that deals with the little ones. In addition to reading and playing corners, so-called gaming tables are a great idea, which serve for different purposes and ideally guarantee different jobs at once. The table can serve for painting or building with Lego bricks, but also meet other purposes and can even be built for the garden. We would like to show you some inspiring ideas that can be helpful if you want to build a gaming table yourself. Let yourself be inspired!
Of course you should first consider whichType of employmentthe new table should offer. For example, you can build a city from existing buildings and with a railway. It is possible to paint the surface from streets, green areas and squares on the table, while your child then builds the city itself. Or you stick or screw some buildings when you build the gaming table yourself.
The table itself has to be nothing special. You can cut it to the right size and spice up with some paint and other decorative materials. In this example, a little wallpaper was also used in addition to new color to make the table look more playful. You can come up with a wide variety of things for this.
Lego play tables or tables for other types of building blocks are particularly popular. The great thing is that they are also made very quickly, provided they already have a suitable table. To save for time, you can simply buy a finished one. You decide what you ultimately use.
In principle, you only need the panels for the surface, and of course the game stones. If you use several plates, you should first attach them to each other with building blocks. So you can be sure that the right distance is later given and the stones also fit everywhere. Now you can also cut the panels to justice so that they fit on the table.
Then put glue on the back and stick everything tight. It is also an advantage if you add some containers to stow the stones. For example, drill a bar on one of the sides of the table and hang up metal buckets. So the stones are always at hand and can be sorted by color.
In the following we have instructions on how you can build such a Lego table yourself. But don't forget cozy chairs either. Since the children usually spend a lot of time building with legislative stones, they can ensure a lot of comfort with such seat cushions. Also adapt the height of the chairs of the table.
This variant is very original, in which several wooden boxes are simply processed into a gaming table instead of a table. In addition, different areas were designed on the table. On the one hand there is an area for Lego and on the other hand to paint, tinker and a board. You can find out how you can build this gaming table yourself in the following video instruction.
Combine a table with a shelf and you will get storage space again for storing toys or pencils. Two of the legs are removed from the table. The table top then comes on one of the shelves and is thus well supported again. A large sheet of paper can be rolled out perfectly on the table. The role can be available under the shelf. You can build this gaming table yourself or use and redesign finished furniture again.
As you can see, containers are very important for stowing the game and painting utensils. And they are also made quickly and easily. You can use any kind of container. If you are ready, just take the selected containers and screw them on one of the pages.
Another variant is this. A bowl or a smaller box are simply used in the middle of the table. The container must have a protruding edge. Then cut a hole with the shape of the container into the table top. This hole must be slightly larger than the container, but smaller than the edge so that the container cannot slip completely.
And where we have already shown them a table with a table color: children love to paint with chalk. So why do you not offer you the opportunity to do this whenever you want. For this purpose, blackboard color is used in black or green to paint the table top. As soon as the color has dried, your child can get started with painting. A really simple idea, isn't it?
Don't forget the container again. The table table can be designed multifunctionally. On the one hand, the table top is suitable for painting on paper. You can expand this function by attaching a paper roll that can pull your child over the table as desired and cut it out.
Here you can see another variant with a bowl in the middle, this time a round table was used. This is practical because the container is easy to reach from all sides. If you build a gaming table yourself, do not forget suitable chairs. These can also be designed to be more interesting in order to appear more inviting.
The game table can also be designed a little larger and then serve wonderfully for building. The wooden rails of a railroad can be distributed on it. In addition, the child is then encouraged to move. Because for the construction of the railway and for playing, the child has to constantly circle the table.
Instead of a table, simply use a wooden plate of any size and two supporting bowls. The plate is then placed on the goats and can possibly be screwed on. Your children can now play, paint or tinker on that. This idea is also extremely easy to implement and also suitable for beginners.
Would you like more ideas? Children love to play with water, but this is actually not a good idea in the room. Actually…! If you integrate a deep container in the table and fill with a little water, your child cannot get anything wet while playing. Put a few stones, seafares or other toys in the water and let your little sweetheart play.
This variant is already for somewhat larger children who can also reach everything that is on it. The table was specially built for a railway and offers enough space for long distances. You can use massive desks for this. In it, plastic boxes are kept that are used to store the individual toy elements.
A gaming table is not only suitable for inside. Even when the weather is nice, it is good if the children can find employment in the garden. If there is no space for a sandpit, you can wonderfully redesign a picnic table with benches and use it as an alternative to the sandpit. The table top must be removed. Below is a box that you can fill with sand.
The situation is similar with this gaming table. Two plastic boxes were embedded in the table top and filled with sand. One of the boxes can also contain water. In addition, there are hooks where the children's tool can be hung like in a real workshop. To do this, let the individual elements be cut in the hardware store or do it yourself. After that, just build them together.
