If you want to make something suitable for the Christmas season, it doesn't always have to be something complicated. This is especially true if you want to do crafts with your children. There is still a little time until Christmas, so you still have the opportunity to purchase the necessary materials. More specifically, we mean the toilet paper rolls that you may not have considered useful until now. Last year we showed you how to make crackers. Today we will show you what fun and, above all, simple things you can do yourself with simple materials. Crafting with toilet rolls at Christmas is child's play, so try out the following Christmas crafts and craft ideas with toilet rolls and decorate your home festively.
The easiest way to do this is to paint the rollers. Use acrylic paint and draw faces or other motifs on the rolls with felt-tip pens. You can then create any figures using additional objects or materials. These choir singers receive, for example, a self-knitted hat, gloves and hymn books.
This reindeer is cute and original and is not at all difficult to make. The toilet roll is reduced in size and the legs of the reindeer are formed at the bottom. Then cut out antlers and a face from extra cardboard (or another toilet roll) and glue them onto the first roll. Don't forget eyes and Rudolph's red nose.
If you want to make the banquet table pretty, you can also make napkin rings yourself. In this example, the roll was covered with linen and decorated with music paper, string and Christmas tree decorations. But you can also contribute your own ideas. Another variant is to just cut out slightly wider rings instead of a whole roll.
In principle, you just cut the toilet paper roll in several places and you get the Christmas tree. You can also mark the incision sites so that your children can help with the crafts. If you choose this idea, also use rhinestones as decoration.
If you want to use it to make a snowman, you may need a few other materials besides the roll. Cotton wool and felt are well suited. Use a felt-tip pen and googly eyes to create the face. You can make arms out of toothpicks or kebab skewers.
For this idea you will also need felt and lace. Cut out the individual elements from the felt material. The beard is made of white lace. Then stick all the elements onto the toilet roll.
This idea is also particularly simple. On white construction paper, draw the shape of legs. You then paint these red (in the trousers area) and black or brown (for the shoes). Leave a free space in between to represent the fur. Cut out Santa's legs and insert them upside down into the toilet roll designed as a chimney.
This pretty packaging may look complicated at first glance, but it's easier to make than you might think. If you like this idea, you can make smaller ones in itWrapping gifts. If you would like to make your own Advent calendar, you can also use the packaging.
First wrap the toilet roll with pretty paper. You may also be able to glue this down. Then fold the outer edges inwards as shown to close the packaging. You may have seen these types of boxes in jewelry before.
Owls as motifs are very trendy and you have probably already come across them. If you make owls, you can use them to decorate the Christmas tree or other areas of the house. The body of the owl is made exactly like the packaging above. You can then make the face and feathers out of round pieces of paper or other similar things.
Make a Santa Claus entirely out of paper if you don't have felt fabric at home. Again, prepare the individual elements, which you then simply glue onto the roll after wrapping them with red paper. The same goes for the snowman. The funny figures can serve as napkin stands or hold dried flower bouquets.
Of course, Santa's important helpers should not be missing during the Christmas season! You can make the hat out of paper that you shape into a funnel. Otherwise, when crafting with toilet rolls for Christmas, proceed as you did with the two figures above. However, the roll is not completely wrapped with green paper here. The upper edge remains free to design the face.
You can make original lanterns with toilet rolls for Christmas in simple steps. Draw the silhouette of candles on the roll and cut out as shown. Then paint the candles with acrylic paints and cover the inside of the rolls with aluminum foil, which will reflect the light. You then use the lanterns for LED candles. Real tea lights could cause the cardboard to burn and should only be used under supervision.
Complete your Christmas tree by making these mini trees with toilet rolls for Christmas. The roll is cut like a spiral and then painted. You can also do the opposite. Once the paint has dried, you can decorate the fir tree. Use pom poms, rhinestones, buttons or whatever else you can think of.
If you cut the toilet paper roll into rings, you can make different things out of them. So does this original Christmas tree. The rings are pressed in slightly and then placed on a base. If you are happy with the arrangement, glue the individual rings together. You can then glue the finished tree crown onto a kitchen paper roll.
You can also make stars from the same rings, which you can then use to make a garland using a string. To make the decoration look more festive, you can design the rings in Christmas colors. Gold, silver, white, red and green are suitable. The best way to do this is to use a hot glue gun.
You can also create creative Advent calendars. First determine the required size of the containers and then cut the rolls to size. These are each covered with a piece of crepe paper on which you write the numbers from 1 to 24 and closed tightly with a rubber band. Glue the finished rolls onto a base.
You can make making snowmen particularly easier if you use white toilet rolls. This means you don't have to paint the rolls or cover them with white paper first. We also find the earmuffs very funny. You can create this idea using pompoms and plush wire.
