On the topic of making ice queens – 12 great ideas for decoration and party fun

There is hardly a child who is not a big fan of the Disney film “Frozen”. This makes it even more fun for children to do ice queen-themed crafts. Whether it's a regular craft afternoon or you're planning to host a children's party on this theme and are looking for some decoration and game ideas, your children will enjoy working on this theme or helping you with the party preparations. We would therefore like to introduce you to some ideas that you can use to make ice queen-themed crafts.

Make a snow globe on the theme of Frozen

Now that winter is approaching, it's time to put up some snow globes that can imitate the atmosphere of a snowy landscape. You can also easily make such snow globes yourself. And if you do thisCharacters from the filmuse, you also have a great decoration for the children's room. To make an ice queen you will need a mason jar and glitter.

First fill the mason jar almost to the top with water and as much glitter as you like. The glitter can be silver, white or blue to match the theme. To make Frozen, next take the lid, inside of which you glue a character from the film (in this case the snowman Olaf) and a Christmas tree. Allow the glue to dry.

Once the glue has dried, simply screw the lid onto the mason jar as shown. Screw it tightly so that no water can leak out. When making this Frozen themed idea, you can use any sized glass. But it shouldn't be too big that the water will be very heavy and the children will have difficulty holding it.

Another variation for the snow globe is to make a cylinder out of a plastic bottle that fits into the mason jar. You then stick stickers with motifs from the film onto this plastic cylinder and place it in the glass. Add glitter to the jar, place the cylinder inside and fill the jar with baby oil.

Make your own crown

You can create a crown using blue felt, white foam, and a white headband. You can also use glue so that you don't have to sew the fabric. You can see the elements you need to cut out in the picture above. To create the right bow, use the headband as a template. The foam later holds the crown upright.

Place the Frozen headband on the crown element for the front and fold the tab around the headband once. Then place the foam on the inside and glue it in place so that it can no longer slip. Finally, the back is added, which is also glued in place. Wait a little for the glue to dry.

The way the crown looks now, it looks pretty boring, doesn't it? This is why glitter comes into play next. Apply glue to the felt along the edge of the crown and immediately sprinkle glitter over it. Make sure everything is well covered and let the glue dry again. Afterwards you can remove the excess glue by shaking the crown. Decorate your Frozen craft with a glitter stone.

DIY Mask

The crown is a great accessory for costumes that you can make for carnival, Halloween or a children's birthday party. You can also make a mask to match the costume. Above you can also see some ideas for the other characters from the film. Various elements made of felt or colored paper are simply glued together and provided with a stick to hold on to.

Make soap bubbles

Children really enjoy bubbles, so these sticks are a wonderful idea to make a children's party more fun. If you're looking for inspiration on how to make a frozen princess, this idea might be a good idea. Form a loop from the top portion of white or blue plush wire. The long stick is then decorated with beads and the lower end is also bent into a loop so that the beads cannot slip out. The children can make the sticks themselves at the party.

Craft with popsicle sticks

It's very easy to make crafts with popsicle sticks. To make this snowman, glue at least seven popsicle sticks together as shown. Then glue googly eyes, an orange pom-pom for the nose, and three pieces of plush wire for hair onto the popsicle sticks after you've painted them white and the paint has dried. Then use felt pens to draw on the mouth and eyebrows.

Make snowflakes

Another idea using popsicle sticks are these snowflakes. Here too, the stems are first painted white again. Spray them with spray adhesive and add some blue glitter. Glue them together to form two plus signs, which you then stick together offset. The snowflakes can be turned into bracelets with a ribbon.

Make jewelry yourself

Girls will definitely be happy about jewelry that you can make using matching colors. The beads for Elsa can be white, blue and silver, while for Anna purple, pink and gold are suitable. If necessary, paint the beads and then thread them onto matching ribbons. The chains are also a great accessory for a costume.

Make a castle

A homemade castle is a great idea for a party, but can also be used as a dollhouse to play with. The lock is made from simple materials such as boxes (e.g. tissue paper), kitchen and toilet rolls, a hot glue gun, paper and glitter spray. You can decorate it with some stickers.

Ideas with toilet rolls

To do this, first measure the paper with which you will cover the toilet and kitchen paper rolls. Then use blue paper to form cones for the roofs of the towers. The boxes are also covered with paper and the large one is then sprayed with glitter spray. Now you can glue the towers onto the large box with hot glue.

Tree decorations

How about making tree decorations based on the theme yourself? This is a great idea if your child has a small Christmas tree in their room. Use Frozen-themed tattoos that you transfer onto the ball. Then fill the ball with artificial snow. This makes the tattoo stand out better. Decorate as you wish with some stickers.

Game idea

We would also like to introduce you to this idea that you can use to keep your child busy at any time. The snowman Olaf is made from a few tissue boxes, which are then stacked on top of each other. You will receive a replacement bowling pin and your child can bowl in their own garden or even indoors.

You can create such decorations for walls and doors using simple Styrofoam rings. The ring is decorated with a band and some glitter. Then glue a motif you made out of paper into the middle. It doesn't necessarily have to be Olaf. Elsa, Anna, Kristoff or Sven are also great and make the children's room look much more magical.

Footprint on a canvas

For this mural you can either design the snowman first or the background first. Olaf is made from a white footprint, which is then transformed into a snowman using markers and twigs. Here, too, you can create other Frozen figures from the footprint. All you need is a little imagination.
