Birch trees have a distinctive white, papery bark and are commonly seen in Germany. It's pretty easy to get an inexpensive birch log for crafts and DIY, and it can be used for many interesting DIY projects. In addition, birch wood can be cut and drilled with little difficulty. Check out our great ideas for birch trunk decoration that would bring a natural rustic touch to your home.
The trunks are often made into interesting, rustic onesCandle holders or lanternstransformed. To set the decoration perfectly and complete the overall picture beautifully, place the birch trunk on a jute table runner and scatter flowers and pine cones around.
Build a rustic coffee or side table from several birch logs tied together. First you need a stable construction made of veneered wood. You can attach the birch trunks to this with wood glue and nails. All birch trunks should be the same length (approx. 45 centimeters). You can also use an old belt for extra stability. Attach another sheet of plywood to it. Cut 2 centimeter thick slices of wood and glue them to the plate. Use mortar to seal the cracks between the wood slices. If desired, you can also install castors to make the table more flexible.
Another simple decoration idea are vases. You can fill these vases with artificial flowers, grass or decorative moss. Since the vases are made of wood, they should not be filled with water like a traditional vase. You can either place a small container in the hollowed out birch trunk or wrap a glass vase with birch bark.
