This technique is a unique way to decorate your Easter eggs and it's really easy to do. Just give it a try!
For this idea using decoupage technique you will need:
- Boiled or blown eggs, well cleaned and dried
- a raw egg white
- Napkins with images that are not too large and strong colors. If they consist of multiple layers, only use the top one (with the pictures).
Variant 1: Decorate with the whole napkin
- Smash the egg whites with a fork.
- Place the egg in the center of the napkin (like in a bag). Gather the ends upwards and cut off what sticks out above the egg.
- Also cut off the wrinkles that arise so that the napkin is smooth.
- Brush the egg coated in this way with the egg white. The moisture causes it to stick to the napkin. But don't repeat this too often, otherwise the napkin could tear.
- Place the finished egg on baking paper to dry for about 2 hours. If you place a pair of scissors under the baking paper, you can place the eggs in the handle holes so that they don't roll back and forth.
Variant 2: The following method is the actual decoupage. To do this, use cut-out motifs.
- Cut the desired motifs out of the napkin, whether flowers, animals or insects.
- Work with one at a time after you've decided where each subject should go. Hold the motif on the egg and, as with the previous variant, brush it with egg white. Then add the next motif. Since the designs are still wet, you should be careful not to touch them, otherwise they could tear.
- For example, use a glass to place the egg in so you don't have to hold it in your hand.
- Let dry again for 2-3 hours.
