Driftwood decoration in a modern interior

A summer residence in Palm Springs, California, was designed in 2014 by architect Jim Schmidt and furnished by Carrè Designs. In the interior, driftwood decoration, natural stone and wood are implemented to create a connection between the surrounding landscape and the interior of the house.

The luxury architect's house opens completely to the outside in the architectural andfrom a design perspective. The materials used in terms of furnishings are used both inside and outside to create a seamless transition. A lounge area with a pool, a terrace cover and several individual areas that invite you to spend relaxing moments stretches across the same space as the inside.

Light-flooded rooms create a really relaxed atmosphere through soft, light nuances of earth tones and the use of natural materials. Decorative and art objects made of wood or stone are in harmony with the surrounding desert landscape and rock garden. Patio doors in every room offer the opportunity to go out directly into the garden and relax and enjoy the sun.
