Complete garden equipment – wooden pavilion, greenhouse and seating area

“2611” is the name of this project for complete garden equipment, designed by Good Design Collective based in Montana, USA. The young team made their debut on the international architecture scene in 2014 with this design. The property where the multifunctional garden was built is located next to a nature reserve with a wolf reserve in Bozeman, Montana.

Since the project was to be realized on a tight budget, the architects paid attention to the technical aspects of design and manufacturing. The multifunctional design consists of 4 elements - a greenhouse, planters, a garden shed, an open fire pit with seating area and an adjacent multifunctional garden bench. The range of materials includesWood, concreteand steel.

Both garden buildings are clad with wooden slats and fitted with steel elements that are manufactured on site. The concrete foundation was also cast on site. The walls of the greenhouse are covered with corrugated transparent plastic panels, which allows enough light to penetrate inside and thus provides a safe environment for the cultivation of various plantsfruit and vegetablescreates. In addition, the large tilt-and-turn windows ensure plenty of light and good air supply, as well as a beautiful view. The solid “barn door” is mounted on a bar and can be slid sideways. When closed, this modern sliding door looks like a wall.

Garden design innovation: the multifunctional wooden pavilion

A concrete retaining wall was built on the low level of the site surrounding the open fire pit. The outdoor space offers integrated outdoor seating. The multifunctional garden bench is designed with overlapping levels and a concrete foundation and offers storage space where tools, garden accessories or crops can be stored.
