Check out these tips for natural cleaning with spices. Gardening expert Trisha Shirey of Lake Austin Spa Resort recommends some recipes for natural household cleaning.
This is a mild, fragrant and natural household cleaning solution - kitchens and bathrooms are easy to cleanclean.
- 1/2 Tasse Backsoda
- 1/2 Tasse Boraxpulver
- Grind 1/4 cup dried spices in a mortar
Suitable spices are: basil, bay leaf, chamomile, lavender, peppermint, spearmint, perfumed geranium, thyme
You can add 5 to 10 drops of essential oil if you want. Citrus oils improve cleaning power.
Mix all ingredients together and place in an airtight container. Spray the surfaces to be cleaned and scrub with a damp sponge.
Means for the carpet
With this mix you can have a proper cleaningHouseholdsecure and add a naturally fresh scent to your home. If you add borax powder to this remedy, it will also work against fleas, flea eggs and larvae that live in carpet.
- 1 Tasse Backsoda or Boraxpulver
- 1/4 cup dried, ground spices (mint, lavender, bay leaf, rosemary, eucalyptus, chamomile)
- 20 – 40 drops of essential oil, the amount depends on the strength of the oil
Place the ingredients in a mason jar. Close it tightly with a lid. Shake the jar to mix the ingredients. Store the jar in a cool, dark place or use the mixture immediately. Don't forget to label the jar.
Distribute the mixture evenly over the carpets and leave it to work for a few hours or overnight. Use vacuum cleaner powder and then vacuum the carpets. Throw away the bag if you have used a lot of powder. Some vacuum cleaner manufacturers do not recommend the use of vacuum cleaner powder. Therefore, follow the operating instructions for your vacuum cleaner.
For a greater effect in combating fleas, work the mixture into the carpet with a brush and vacuum it afterwards.
Recommended mixtures
Citrus dream: Take lemon balm, field thyme or common thyme and lemon verbena and add essential oils from lemon, orange, mandarin to them.
Christmas Mix: Take cinnamon powder, dried rosemary and essential oils of grated orange peel with cinnamon, fir, tangerine and frankincense.
Spicy floor cleaner
Clean your floor while maintaining a naturally fresh scent.
- 1.1 liters of strongly spicy tea
- 1/2 cup spicy vinegar
- 2 THE Boraxpulver
How to prepare the tea: Soak one cup of dry tea or two cups of fresh tea in approximately 2.2 liters of hot water. Let it cool down. Strain the tea before using it. Mix all the ingredients in a squirt bottle and mist the floor. Let the mixture sit for a while and mop the floor with a mop.
