We would like to show you an interesting urban garden in the middle of Brooklyn and illustrate what an impressive transformation has been made and achieved in just a few steps. The design for the terrace and garden design comes from Lindsey Taylor. You'll be amazed at what can be changed with new flooring and pretty plants and furniture. The new garden exudes peace and is perfect for relaxing.
Not much was changed in the shape of the small garden. Even thatraised bedwas retained. The only difference is the rounded area, which now has a simple angular shape. This way the garden gets a more modern look. Bluestone in gray color serves as the floor covering. The tiles also have a modern, rectangular shape and also cover the former lawn. Since the owners really liked the bamboo fence, nothing was changed about it. Even the weathered look has been retained, giving the garden a certain charm.
Gray was also chosen for the fixed dining table. Benches and modern stools are used for sitting. The chaise longe made of unfinished wood, which also includes a side table, is also an interesting eye-catcher. This accessory comes from a vacation the homeowners took. A practical feature that was taken into account when designing the terrace and garden is additional seating, which is made possible thanks to the wide wall of the raised bed.
The decorations were used very sparingly. Only two concrete-look planters and a few fiberglass flower boxes with miscanthus decorate the terrace. One reason for this is the rather small space. But there was wonderful playing with the plants. They were planted in a wild manner, breaking the straight, modern style of the terrace. The plants include the Asian flowering dogwood, a climbing rose and various bushes. In addition, a garden design was chosen that requires minimal gardening. Space was left in the middle of the tiled floor for another small bed. This is decorated with a Japanese camellia, as well as lavender and boxwood. That was one of the customers' wishes.
