Romantic DIY headdress: Make your own flower headband

Whether it's a summer wedding, garden party or Oktoberfest - a flower headband is the perfect accessory to spice up your outfit. And the best part? You can easily make it yourself! Let's create this romantic look together that will not only make your hairstyle shine, but also your face.

What you need for the flower headband:

  • White and pink eustoma
  • White hydrangeas
  • White gypsophila
  • Scissors
  • Plastic headband
  • Narrow white or soft pink satin ribbons
  • Thin silver floral wire
  • Hot glue gun
  • Floral shine spray or hairspray for the final finish

You can find these flowers in any well-stocked flower shop. Alternatively, you can also use carnations or small-flowered chrysanthemums - the main thing is that the flowers are robust and can withstand a whole day of fun and adventure.

And this is how you do it:

  1. Prepare the headband: Grab the hot glue gun and attach one end of the satin ribbon to one end of the plastic headband. Now carefully wrap the ribbon around the headband, always slowly and piece by piece with about 2 cm of hot glue.
  2. Pay attention to the teeth: When you get to the areas with the teeth, place the tape cleverly between the teeth. This means that the top of the wreath remains nicely covered and the teeth at the bottom remain functional so that the headband stays in place in the hair later.
  3. The wire comes into play: Attach the thin silver wire to the wreath about 10cm from the edge. The flowers are attached to the wreath with this wire. You can easily wrap the wire around the headband with your fingers or small pliers.
  4. Trim flowers: Cut the flowers so that the stems are about 5 cm long. Place the flowers on the wreath and wrap the wire around the stems and headband. Tip: You can arrange the flowers however you like - symmetry is nice, but sometimes a little wild growth is also charming.
  5. Arrange flowers upside down: When you are almost at the end of the headband, place the last flowers upside down. This way the stems are hidden and the flower headdress looks perfect all around.

Final Touch: Finally, spray the finished flower headband with floral shine spray orHairspraya. This protects the flowers from rapid water loss and keeps them fresher for longer. Voilà – your magical flower wreath is ready!
