Rough natural stone clinker facade and smooth surfaces inside

This modern flat roof house is located on a beautiful 440 square meter plot. To the south it enjoys endless views, but to the north there is a truck parking garage. For this reason, the architects decided to organize the house floor plan and architecture in relation to these influences. Their concept: A narrow house on two levels. The house itself serves as a screen and turns its back on the unsightly, noisy neighbor. On the outside, the building appears earthy and natural thanks to its rough natural stone clinker facade, while smooth, white surfaces dominate on the inside.

On one side the house is completely protected from unwanted glances, while on the other side it opens onto a large, sunny garden. Lots of daylight comes through the large panoramic windows and you can enjoy nature outside undisturbed. The resulting floor plan hasan asymmetrical shape, but is optimally adapted to the conditions outside.

The floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows look like large wooden picture frames that frame the landscape. They provide a view into the distance and at the same time invite nature into the house. Large blinds made of horizontal wooden slats are attached to the outside of the windows. This allows you to control the amount of light and the desired level of privacy. The natural stone clinker facade gives the whole thing a lively texture and elegant character.

The reduced choice of shapes and materials continues indoors. Unplastered walls with an exposed concrete look are chosen as the starting point for the interior design. Thanks to wood veneer with a similar grain and color, everything matches harmoniously. The white cast floor and the white plastered ceiling further underline the rough effect of the concrete. The kitchen complements this color palette with a concrete island combined with a white countertop. The wooden parquet in the bedroom creates a cozy atmosphere.

The ambience in the house is inviting and cozy. Everything focuses on the tranquility of the landscape. Wide, gently sloping fields, a few trees and a lonely house. You could look at this landscape for hours.
