The architects from the Italian architecture studio Bergmeisterwolf have designed a modern extension to a 17th century villa in Italy. The extension is built behind the house and is therefore located directly in the garden. The house, the extension and the garden create a harmonious overall picture. The special thing about this extension is the glass fronts, which disappear vertically into the ground at the push of a button. Retractable glass walls completely eliminate the boundaries between indoor and outdoor areas and allow the house to merge with the garden.
This modern extension is built on a 17th century villa located on Italy's largest lake - Lake Garda. The house extension has a modern designreflective glass frontsin harmony with colored concrete. The architecture of the extension beautifully complements the plastered stone facade of the villa.
The so-called lowered fronts offer an improved alternative to sliding doors. With sliding or folding glass doors, the individual leaves are stacked to the side and therefore take up space in the room. Retractable glass walls, on the other hand, disappear completely into the ground and almost silently with just the push of a button. In this way, a limitless living concept can be created and space is saved at the same time. Such external walls are completely weatherproof and can withstand even extreme climatic conditions. In addition, this way you can quickly turn the cultivation into a cozy oneTerrace with rooftransform, which is open to the garden.
In the modern extension there is a cozy living room which faces the garden and offers a view of the lake. The furnishings are modern, with the modern pendant lights having an industrial character. Right next to the living room there is a fitted kitchen with a large black cooking island. When the glass walls are recessed, this area transforms into a practical outdoor kitchen with dining area. A modern staircase connects the villa to the annex. Colored concrete and light wood are used for the stairs.
The beautiful villa on Lake Garda has a large garden that is richly planted with trees. An orchard with lemon trees and several 100-year-old palm trees create a beautiful, natural landscape. There is a small swimming pool between the trees, perfect for those warm summer days.
