Sharp contours, hard edges and rectangular shapes characterize the facade of a single-family home in Israel. The effect of visual rigor is achieved by suspended wooden elements that loosen up the white plastered facade and at the same time create an exciting play of light and shadow in the living area. On the outside, the house presents itself as a minimalist beauty; on the inside, the puristic furnishings attract attention. Join us on a virtual tour of the “Split” house and let yourself be inspired by the modern architect’s house!
Striking minimalist facade and stylish, purist furnishings: The “Split” house
The outside of the house follows suita striking facadeand an innovative aluminum fence. The suspended wooden elements give the building a kick. But they are not only decorative, but also functional. The wooden elements provide privacy and sun protection while allowing light into the living area.
The building consists of two volumes that are connected by a glazed inner courtyard and two central bridges. The single-storey architect's house encloses the gravelled inner courtyard. It is because of this that the puristically furnished interiors do not appear sterile or boring. Screened off from the street, the house opens up to the garden in the middle through generously glazed fronts. Several trees provide cooling shade and ornamental grasses add a natural touch.
It offers the highest level of living comfort
The minimalist living style conveys visual peace and security. The living area was designed flexibly according to the clients' wishes. Two living areas and a coffee table offer enough seating for the residents and their guests. Ten people can sit at the minimalist metal dining table. Several wall shelves effectively display the family's wine collection.
The kitchen is visually separated from the living area by swing doors made of frosted glass. There is another informal living room right next to the kitchen area. The family can relax there after a long day at work.
Handleless cupboard doors, cleverly placed storage spaces and the neutral color palette give the room visual depth. The flooring made of large-format, highly polished natural stone tiles creates a visual connection between the individual rooms.
The lighting concept is very well thought out and adapted to the room conditions. Floor, table and ceiling lamps make niches and corners stand out better. The glass pendant lights above the dining table remain discreetly in the background during the day and only really come into their own in the evening.
The living area opens through sliding doors to the garden with a spacious lawn and a pool. A terrace with a fire pit offers the opportunity to end the evening outside.
The glass wall made of frosted glass is extremely practical: it divides the spacious living area into two and lets light through.
The kitchen furnishings fascinate with a well thought-out concept. The kitchen cabinets flow seamlessly into the wall unit. The color palette in the kitchen is deliberately kept simple: white, grey, oak and anthracite round off the puristic color scheme and allow the high-quality materials and textiles to be better showcased.
The “Split” house is a perfect example of modern architecture and purist furnishings. The Pitsou Kedem architects have interpreted the classic concept of a courtyard house in a modern way and the end result is impressive.
