Fashion with a wink: The winter season breaks up strong silhouettes with playful details

Fashion is the reflection of our time. It is therefore hardly surprising that it is currently characterized by a certain seriousness. At the same time, the current winter season integrates some humorous “bright spots” and breaks its severity with charming contrasts. Because fashion is more than just a reflection of the status quo - it also shows the desires that underlie it. More than anything else, it's probably the desire for light-heartedness at the moment. Oneease, which is not onlyas a trend in the designs of the winter seasonbut above all reminds us of what fashion is all about: pure joy!

In winter 2024/25, this joy is reflected in humorous details: paper boats, smiley stickers, baguette bags (in the truest sense of the word) and plush toys are taking over the catwalks. Playful onesthat not only make us smile, but also give fashion a refreshing lightness.

Playfulness as a fashion trend in winter: These 3 fashion houses show how it works:

    1. Moschino

Flashy, colorful, spectacular – hardly any other fashion house has mastered the art of causing a stir as well. Former creative director Jeremy Scott once sent his models onto the catwalk in a Spongebob all-over look, draped as a bouquet of flowers or as a lifelike receipt - always imaginative and with a certain pinch of sarcasm. The autumn/winter collection of the new creative director Adrian Appiolaza, who has held the post since 2024, is surprisingly subtle: reduced silhouettes and muted colors characterize his looks. Instead, amusing details provide a certain Moschino charm. Paper boats serve as hats and are decorated with yellow smiley faces, sweaters and models' nipples. Fruit, vegetables and pastries are the new it bags.

    2. Simone Rocha

Known for her fairytale-like, nostalgic designs, Simone Rocha always manages to combine romantic elements with contemporary cool. This season she continues to impress with her unique, detailed creations. In addition to colorful bows and draped flowers- like a fashion element, a new accent stands out in their winter collection: the stuffed animal. Worn as a bag, the fluffy accessory creates a playful, almost childlike contrast to the otherwise sophisticated designs in various looks.

    3. Loewe

Tradition, quality, sophistication. With a history spanning over 200 yearsone of the most renowned fashion houses in the world. The Spanish label always impresses with its unique avant-garde originality - with looks that are worn from the Met Gala to the royal families. This season in particular shows how cleverly creative director Jonathan Anderson is with his designs. A central motif in his creations: pearls. Surprisingly modern and creative, the designer plays with the versatility of the more classic element and creates creative and at the same time beautiful motifs. Beadedare reminiscent of a rose garden, a dog made of pearls takes shape on a dress and a bag that is reminiscent of a bunch of asparagus shows itself in a pearl garment.

This charming fashion trend is so present in winter

Other brands are also setting this winter ason playful elements. The Holzweiler collection with its pastel tones is reminiscent of floating balloons. Brands likeand Tod's use colorful fringes, which are variously interpreted as worn as shoes, scarves or fringed sweaters. Animal influences can be found in Alexander McQueen. Creative director Seán McGirr shows shoes in the shape of horse hooves, adding a distinctive and playful twist. Another defining element: colorful prints and neon accents in contrast to minimalist looks. When used in a targeted manner, they create attractive highlights. A season that is not only inspiring, but above all fun!
