The recipe is amazingsimple. A simple oneSponge doughwill come with oneCinnamon sugar crumbletopped and gets a decadent finish. Interesting thing about the dough: A few tablespoons of applesauce provide a natural sweetness and make the dough even juicy. I definitely have to try this out – and use the excuse to bake this delicious recipe. Do you feel the same way?

Feel-good recipe for cold days: wintery cinnamon blondies

Ingredients

For the cinnamon streusel:

  • 75g sugar
  • 25g brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp salted butter (room warm)
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 170 g Butter
  • 60 ml applesauce
  • 100g sugar
  • 100g brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 TL Vanilleextrakt
  • 290 g Flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 100 g dark chocolate (chopped)
  • 50 g cinnamon and sugar mixture

preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 175 degrees. Line a baking pan (approx. 23x33 cm) with baking paper.
  2. For the cinnamon streusel, mix the butter, both sugars and cinnamon together in a bowl. Spread the mixture on a small baking tray lined with baking paper and freeze for 10 minutes.
  3. For the remaining dough, melt the butter in a pan over medium heat until it browns to give it a nutty aroma. Allow to cool briefly and place in a mixing bowl.
  4. Add sugar, applesauce, egg and vanilla extract to the browned butter and mix well. Add flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt and mix everything into a dough.
  5. Fold in the chopped chocolate and about two-thirds of the frozen cinnamon pieces.
  6. Pour the dough into the prepared form and smooth it out. Spread the remaining cinnamon pieces on top and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  7. Bake the blondies in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, until they are firm on the outside and still slightly soft on the inside.
  8. Allow blondies to cool, then cut into bars and enjoy!
