What is a juicer?

A juicer is a kitchen appliance that extracts juice of fruit and vegetables. This is achieved with the help of different processes, but the most common models are centrifugal juicers and slow juicers. These electrical vitamin sources are a must-have for everyone who wants to supplement their diet with additional vitamins, minerals and nutrients using fruit and vegetables that a healthysearch or the one with a refreshing boost in thewant!

The test winners at an overview

You should pay attention to this when buying a juicer

Before you choose a juicer, there are some points that you should pay attention to. These are the three most important points.

A juicer is not the same as juicer. The kitchen helper is available in numerous variations. Depending on what your demands are, there are different processing methods from fruit to juice. Click on the different juicer types and find out more!

A slow juicer does not easily cut the raw food. Instead, he relies on a few revolutions and the juice is extracted by pressing power. This ensures that the fruit is not heated or oxidized when juicing and the enzymes and vitamins are optimally preserved. However, Slow Juicer are often the more expensive option.

A centrifugal juicer, as the name suggests, works with a centrifuge. Here the knife and rice cuts are thrown at high speed to dismember the fruit and vegetables. Afterwards, the juice is solved from the pieces thanks to a press. The disadvantage here is the high contamination of traffic jams, which some raw food varieties oxidize. In addition, the result is not as productive as with a Slow Juicer. But a centrifugal cutter is often an inexpensive option with a satisfactory result.

The citrus press is only suitable for pressing citrus fruits. While this may not sound particularly varied, these presses are particularly easy to stow and inexpensively stowed away. So who only for- or want to get a juicer, should use this option.

The steam juice can mislead a little. Because this is not a device per se, but an ancient process to gain juice. Here, a construction that looks like layered cooking pots is steamed and the condensed juice is absorbed. Vapor juicers are cheap, perfect for large quantities of juice, and in some types of fruit it makes processing easier. However, many vitamins are lost due to the heat, and only water -rich, fiber armscan be used.

If we think of classic juicers, they are probably forCold juice. Here the fruit or vegetables are placed raw into the device. This has the advantage that the vitamins and minerals are not damaged by the heat and are included in the juice.

Hot orWarmOn the other hand, it requires the boiling, which solves the juice through the heat. This can be done with the help of a saucepan or steam juicer. While it does not get the nutrients as in the cold juice process, you can save yourself the stone or core with this procedure, since the fruits "burst" and the juice dissolves from the stones.

Finally, it's about handling. How much juice should your juicer be able to do? In families in particular, the investment in a device that can produce and hold a particularly high volume of juice is worthwhile. If you only drink juice occasionally or alone at home, a smaller device is enough.

If you want to prepare a refreshing juice every day, you should also find out how the device is cleaned. Nobody wants to have to clean the juicer for half an hour every morning. Tips forYou can find in one of the later sections.

How much watts should a good juicer have?

The wattan number is a big misunderstanding. More power is not always better when juicing. Juicers are equipped with drives from 200 to 2000 watts. Devices with a higher wattan number work particularly quickly and powerfully. However, they are not very loud or for soft fruit varieties, since they are literally "dismantled".

As a rule of thumb: forAnd Co., which process a lot of hard raw food, a juicer is recommended by 800 to 1000 watts. Around 200 to 400 watts are sufficient for classic fruit juices.

Which fruit and vegetables can you use for a juicer?

There is no limits to your creativity when juicing. Particularly good, even with lower performance, apples, melons, citrus fruits, berries or grapes are suitable. Complement in vegetables, Cucumbers, tomatoes or spinach your juices with essential nutrients. Make sure that you are at firmer fruit and vegetable varieties such as celery andhave enough performance.

Flour or fibrous fruit and vegetables such as bananas, mango or avocados are not recommended. (Instead, you can do this in deliciousUse!) Be sure to read the operating instructions whether your raw food must be peeled before juicing or not.

So you clean your juicer

Here is the motto “back to basics”: so that you can enjoy your juicer for a long time, you take the individual parts apart and clean them with water and detergent. (Some devices even indicate that you can put the components in the dishwasher. Check the instructions here too!)

In the case of stubborn pollution, the individual parts gave you overnight. To do this, you dive in water until they are covered and add a baking powder-lemon acid mixture in a ratio of one to one.
