A wedding not only includes good food and music, but also wedding games! They're fun, lighten the mood and fill waiting times in an entertaining way, for example before the food is served.
You can also use wedding games at any time as a humorous breather. When the big ceremony has already been a few hours and the guests have chatted extensively, it's exactly the right time to get the group dynamic going again with a few fun wedding games.
Tipp:It's best to discuss with the bride and groom beforehand whether they agree to wedding games. Some couples don't want to play games on this special day for various reasons. You should respect this wish.
Modern wedding games that are really fun
Not everyone is a fan of wedding games; some find the games silly or a bit hackneyed. But with these original wedding games you are guaranteed to have fun and lots of laughs! They also give the celebration a personal touch.
If wedding games are planned, you can do them before the lavish wedding dinner or after the meal. After the hearty meal, the mood usually drops a bit and the wedding party gets tired. Wedding games can quickly lighten and lift the mood.

These are the 6 best wedding games for the bride and groom and guests:
1. Wedding game for the bride and groom: Does the pot fit on the lid?
You need:
- 2 chairs
- 1 shoe from each partner
- 1 questionnaire tailored to the wedding couple
- 1 Moderator*in
And this is how it works:
The married couple must sit back to back, clearly visible to all guests, so that they cannot see each other. Both of you now take off one shoe and exchange it with your partner. Then you can start with the moderator's questions to the couple. We have collected a few sample questions for you. Of course, the funniest thing is when the questions are tailored specifically to the couple:
- Who took the first step?
- Who is more romantic?
- Who snores more often?
- Who first suggested the honeymoon destination?
- Who cooks more often?
- Who is tidier?
- Who buys clothes more often?
- Who can lose better?
- Who is the better dancer?
Without seeing their partner, the spouses hold up the shoe that they think the answer applies to. Of course, guests are strictly forbidden from giving any tips to the bride and groom...
For each match, the couple receives points, which can ultimately be evaluated as follows:
0 – 8 points: Things are still quite stormy for you – move closer together!
9 – 12 points: Maybe things will go haywire in the first year of marriage, but after that harmony will return!
13 – 16 points: You have found the ideal partner!
16 – 18 points: More than perfect!
2. Wedding game for the wedding guests: The spaghetti game

You need:
- 8 – 12 people
- some dry spaghetti
- a few long macaroni (should look like thin tubes)
And this is how it works:
Select several volunteer men and women from the wedding party (even numbers only, as couples must be formed). The married couple can also be asked to take part in the game.
The couples stand opposite each other and are each given a spaghetti and a macaroni. Now everyone has to take the pasta loosely between their lips. Now it gets difficult: The couples have to try to push the spaghetti into the macaroni using only their lips. The first couple to do this wins. At the end, the winners can be rewarded with a small gift.

3. Wedding game for the bride and groom: Balloon stabbing
You need:
- 1 cord (approx. 3 meters)
- 15 inflated balloons
- 1 dart or a comparable pointed object
- 1 cloth for blindfolding the eyes
- 1 video camera or cell phone
And this is how it works:
The balloons are tied to a string or attached to the wall. Now have your recording device ready and you can get started!
First, one of the spouses is blindfolded. He or she must now try to puncture the balloons using only the partner's directions. Ballooning looks particularly amusing for spectators when it is accompanied by a funny piece of music.
The comments made by the person you are marrying (“higher, lower, back, now, yes, no,” etc.) are recorded with the video camera. After the couple uses teamwork to puncture the balloons, the bride's comments can be played to "ambiguous" music or incorporated into the wedding video as a memento. Absolute laugh guarantee!

4. Wedding game for the wedding guests: Beautiful wedding painting
You need:
- 1 pencil
- 1 canvas (size as desired)
- 1 easel
- Color (as required)
- several brushes
- Film (to protect furniture or floors)
- Water cup (for washing brushes)
- 1 previously enlarged picture of the wedding couple (from the copy shop)
And this is how it works:
The large picture of the wedding couple is cut into squares of the same size in advance. The cut squares have the corresponding coordinates of the template on the back (A1, A2, etc.). At the same time, the canvas is carefully marked with a pencil using the same coordinates as the respective location on the picture. Each guest can then paint their chosen image section onto the canvas with a brush.
Little by little - like a puzzle - the bare canvas becomes an unforgettable unique piece and an extraordinary memory during the wedding celebration.
5. Wedding game for the wedding guests: wedding darts
You need:
- 1 cork pinboard or a typesetting box
- Thumbtacks
- 1 Luftballon your Guest
- sufficient pens and pieces of paper
- 6 darts
- 1 Moderator*in
And this is how it works:
At the beginning of the celebrations, each guest is given a piece of paper and a pen, on which they are asked to write down a very special “gift” for the bride and groom: whether it's a neck massage, washing the car, mowing the lawn, a barbecue or spring cleaning - there are no limits to creativity. The name of the person who wrote the note must also be put on paper so that the “generous” donor can be found after it has been cut.
Before the game begins, all the pieces of paper are collected and put into the balloons that have not yet been inflated. Then the balloons can be inflated and attached to the pin board for the dart game with thumbtacks.
The bride and groom have to try to puncture as many balloons as possible with darts. You have six attempts (or more or less. You can decide for yourself). The gifts in the punctured balloons belong to the bride and groom.

6. Wedding game for the bride and groom and guests: Who is my partner?
You need:
- several volunteers and the couple
- One chair for each player, all chairs are set up in a row
And this is how it works:
This game requires a lot of volunteers. The more wedding guests participate in this game, the funnier it is.
One of the spouses is blindfolded. Afterwards, various guests and the groom or bride sit on any chair in the row of chairs that were previously set up. The partner now has to identify who his or her lover is by feeling their ankles. Once your partner has recognized their true love, you can swap.
7. Wedding game for guests: When was the photo taken?
A wedding is always a nice occasion to reminisce. And with exactly these memories you can also make a super fun wedding game: the photo guessing game or “When was the photo taken?”
You need:
- Several (children's and/or youth) photos of the couple
- Prepared lists for all wedding guests
- Optional: a projector and a laptop to project the photos onto a screen
And this is how it works:
The game can be organized either by the wedding couple themselves or by their parents and/or closest friends. In advance, collect as funny as possible children's and youth photos or pictures from the last vacation together of the two newlyweds.
Guests receive game sheets in which the photos shown on the screen are numbered (or named, for example with the spouse's name and a word such as "Christmas", "first day of school", etc.). For each picture, guests write down how old the bride or groom is in the photo. It becomes even more personal if a little anecdote is told about each picture.
At the end the game is resolved and the guest with the most correctly guessed photos receives a small prize.
