According to the study: do you belong to the average with your assets?
The older, the higher the assets? Yes, but only up to a certain age.
How much money should you save at 50? This is the average assets of the Germans between 50 and 54 years.
50-year-olds who have trained or ended their studies early have been in their professional life for 20 or 30 years and have been earning money for many years.
In my idea, this should also have a positive effect on the assets. Because at the age of 50 you certainly have significantly more money on the high edge than at 30. But is that really the case or is it a fallacy?

TheInstitute of the German Economybased on the results of the last income and consumption sample (EVS) from 2018, has calculated the age-specific distribution of household networks.
Accordingly, the average assets of the50 to 54 year oldsat115.100 Euro. The upper10 percent of this age grouphave on average even539.200 Euro. The top value is 129,600 euros in the age group of 70 to 74-year-olds.
This shows that the income increases on average even after the age of 50, but no longer as serious as between the 35- to 39-year-olds (45,800 euros) and the 40 to 44 year olds (87,200 euros).

In general, the results show that the assets grow with age. The biggest dive is about at the beginning/mid 40th. While you have saved an average assets of 45,800 euros between 35 and 39 years, this doubles to 87,200 euros between the ages of 40 and 44.
What should never be neglected when considering the average assets is thatIncome is not the sameis. The latter in Germany is much unequally distributed than income.
According to theFederal Office of Political EducationThere is a net assets of 7.8 trillion euros in Germany. However, the richest one percent hold a total of 18 percent of this total assets.
