I almost always have wraps in the house - because I can quickly fill them with beans, salad, etc., roll them and eat them for lunch. But using it as a substitute for tarte flambée hasn't occurred to me yet. It's so brilliantly simple because the wraps are wonderfully thin, just like the base of a real tarte flambée.

Simply top it, put it in the oven and you're done. And best of all: there are no limits to your imagination. Whether classic with sour cream, onions and bacon, something more unusual with goat cheese, thyme and honey, or fresh with tomato cream, rocket and tomatoes - every version tastes incredibly delicious.

1. The classic: “flambée” with sour cream, onions and bacon

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tortilla-Wrap
  • 2 EL Crème fraîche
  • 1 small onion, cut into fine rings
  • 2 EL Speckwürfel
  • Salt and pepper

Here's how:

1. Optionally, briefly fry the bacon in a pan without oil. Add onions and fry for 1-2 minutes - this will make both extra crispy.

2. Place the tortilla on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Spread with crème fraîche, top with bacon and onions, and season lightly with salt and pepper.

3. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C (top/bottom heat) for 8-10 minutes until the wrap is crispy.

2. The fine one: “flambée” with goat cheese, thyme & honey

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tortilla-Wrap
  • 2 EL Crème fraîche
  • 40 g fresh goat cheese (or goat cheese roll, sliced)
  • 1 TL Honig
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • Some freshly ground pepper

Here's how:

1. Place the tortilla on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Spread with crème fraîche and spread goat cheese on top.

2. Drizzle honey over it and sprinkle with thyme and pepper.

3. Bake in the oven at 200 °C (top/bottom heat) for 8-10 minutes until the cheese is slightly melted.

3. The fresh one: “flambée” with tomato cream, rocket and tomatoes

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tortilla-Wrap
  • 2 tablespoons tomato cream (e.g. bruschetta spread, pureed tomatoes with spices or tomato spread)
  • 5 cherry tomatoes, halved
  • A handful of fresh arugula
  • 1 tbsp grated Parmesan

Here's how:

1. Spread tortilla with tomato cream, spread the cherry tomatoes on top and sprinkle with Parmesan.

2. Bake in the oven at 200 °C top/bottom heat for about 8-10 minutes, then top with fresh rocket and serve.
