Pound pot from the oven: Easy 500 recipe

The secret of the hearty stew is not only its ingredients but also the long braising time in the oven. It simmers in the oven for two hours, creating its rustic, hearty world of aromas.

The recipe is very simple: after a little preparation time, 500 grams of the main ingredients end up in the ovenproof casserole or roasting pan. You can also vary the quantity according to your taste.

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g beef goulash
  • 500 g pork goulash
  • 500g mixed minced meat
  • 500 g of bacon
  • 500 g onions (equivalent to about 2 large vegetable onions)
  • 500 g of roasted paprika
  • 500 g yellow peppers
  • 250 g whipped cream
  • 250 ml ready-made chili sauce
  • 250 ml ready-made shish kebab sauce
  • 800 g canned tomatoes (equivalent to 2 cans)
  • 2 EL Kill
  • Salt and pepper
  • Chili powder or cayenne pepper to taste
  • Optional for serving: baguette and sour cream

Preparation:

1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and place the baking rack on the second lowest rail.

2. Peel the onion, halve it and cut it into fine strips, wash, core and dice the pepper and finely dice the bacon.

3. Place the roaster on the stove, turn on high heat and add oil. When the oil is hot, fry the bacon, onions and minced meat vigorously for three to four minutes. Then turn off the stove.

4. Put the goulash meat in the roasting pan along with the canned tomatoes, whipped cream, chili sauce and shish kebab sauce and mix with the ingredients. Season with a pinch of salt, pepper and chili powder to taste.

5. Place the lid on the roaster or casserole dish and let the pound pot stew for about 2 hours at 180 degrees.

6. After the cooking time, remove the pot (be careful, very hot!) and finally season the stew with salt, pepper and/or chili powder.

Tipp:Fresh baguette and a dollop of sour cream go perfectly with this!
