Are you hosting a game night soon or are you looking for fun party games for other reasons? Here are 13 fun and bizarre games for adults that will make the evening a highlight.
The best party games for adults
What's most important in a party game for adults? Of course have fun together. That's why we don't need super complicated and long game instructions; that just dampens the good mood. We'll tell you which games will really get the party going.
Party Games: 1. Beer Pong and Dare Pong
‚Beer Pong‘ (you can get it here on Amazon*) is a long-time favorite as a party drinking game. Two teams meet, with two players competing against each other and trying to hit the opposing beer cups at the other end of the table with a table tennis ball. Cups that are hit must be drunk. So far, so fun.
The classic 'Beer Pong' becomes more fun with the deck of cards from 'Dare Pong'. There is a task on each of the 120 beer coasters. The player (or team) whose cup was discarded turns over the card underneath. The challenge can, but does not have to be, accepted.
The highlight: If the player takes the risk, he can save his cup and thus increase his team's chances of victory. Funny tasks in the old “Truth or Dare” style also increase the entertainment value of the drinking game – even for the teams that are currently sitting out.
Number of players:From 2 people (8 players are ideal)
Age recommendation:Party game for adults aged 18 and over
Party games: 2. Party Tower
As if 'Jenga' wasn't exciting enough on its own, 'PartyTower' goes one step further: As with the original, you first build the wobbly tower before pulling out wooden blocks one by one and trying not to let the thing collapse.
This party drinking game for adults also has the name of a separate party game written on the bottom of each stick, which adds spice to the whole thing. Basic rule: If you lose a challenge, fail or cause the tower to collapse, you have to drink something strong. Logical, right?
As alcohol levels rise, it becomes increasingly difficult to remove the wooden beams without causing an accident. A vicious circle. That's why the actual skill game for families is also the perfect drinking game for adults.
Number of players:From 2 players
Age recommendation:From 14 years (except for the drinking game variant)
Party game: 3. Looping Loui
There are few children's games that are as popular as a party game for adults as Looping Loui. Everyone has their own farm with three chickens that can be hit by the flying Looping Loui. If a farm runs out of chickens, you are eliminated - and as punishment you have to drink something at a party, for example.
A maximum of 4 people can play at the same time. Since the game is quite fast-paced, the partygoers can always take turns and loosen up the round.
Number of players:2-4 players
Age recommendation:From 4 years (except of course for the drinking game version)
Party Games: 4. Brazen
Everyone knows these quick quiz rounds where you only have a short time to come up with the answers. Don't worry, 'Dreister' doesn't ask for any knowledge. It's more about spontaneous associations to certain topics or questions. However, you don't have to think about it for long because the app timer is set to 8 seconds.
With just a little time to think about it, some surprises might come to light - a great party game for getting to know the people in your group better. “Dreister” is also great as a drinking game. Fans of party games like 'Say...' will love 'Dreister'!
Number of players:From 3 people
Age recommendation:From 16 years (except for the drinking game variant)
Party Games: 5. Ass Card
“How long was the longest traffic jam ever created in traffic?” or “How high can a kernel of corn jump when making popcorn?” These and other bizarre questions have to be answered in the party game 'Ass Card'. The fun is in guessing and estimating the correct result as best you can.
One player reads a question card and the other players write down their answers face down. Each player must choose a teammate who will give the supposedly worst answer. This player receives the ass card. Anyone who was correct in their assessment can score additional points.
Number of players:From 3 people
Age recommendation:From 12 years
Party games: 6. Pub quiz
'Pub game - the original' brings the popular pub quiz directly into your living room at home. This party game requires knowledge and speed because the goal is to answer all five questions and leave opposing teams behind on the field.
The quiz questions cover many subject areas, so no one actually knows anything. There are also three difficulty levels. The party game is suitable for 3-6 players. For a larger game evening, there is also a variant for quizzes for larger game groups.
Number of players:3-6 people
Age recommendation:From 16 years
Party games: 7. Two stupid people ONE thought
Assessing each other and getting to know each other better - this works in a friendly way with the party game 'Two Stupid One Thought'. Because while other party games in the 'Never Have I Ever' tradition tend to embarrass one or the other, this one is about finding common ground among the guests.
Instead of questions, statements are read out that the other players should brainstorm about. The person asking the question also writes down their first thought about the respective term. Afterwards it is revealed: Are there two “stupid people” who had the same thought? Then you get extra points... or you can have a drink as a brother or sister.
Tipp:In principle, you don't need any materials for the party game. Anyone who is creative simply comes up with terms themselves and creates their own game.
Number of players:From 2 people
Age recommendation:From 12 years (except for the drinking game version)
Party Games: 8. Werewolves of Mirkwood
Hardly any party game can be played in such a large group as Werewolves of Mirkwood. Each party guest is assigned a role in a village. At night the villagers are devoured by werewolves and during the day they have to keep their identities secret.
Once it starts and every player suspects the other, it gets really fun. Think together about who the werewolf could be and bluff as best you can to save yourself from elimination.
Number of games:8-18 players
Age recommendation:From 10 years
Party Games: 9. Damn it
The card game 'Damn Again' is aimed at a very macabre corner. In this card game, you try to outdo your fellow players in terribleness: One player gives a keyword, for example sunburn, and each player hands over a card face down that they believe has a higher misery index than sunburn.
On a scale of 1 to 100, which is worse – being “struck by lightning” or “fired”? This party game is sure to be a hit the first time you play it.
Number of players:From 2 people
Age recommendation:Party game for adults aged 18 and over
The funniest party games that cost nothing
Don't have time to buy any of the party games shown above, or don't want to spend extra money on them? No problem! We'll tell you which fun party games cost (almost) nothing.
Free party games: 1. Two truths, one lie
Two truths, one lie is especially fun in a large group where most of the party guests don't know each other well. It's the perfect icebreaker to lighten the mood and get people to get to know each other. Here's how:
A player begins by listing three statements about themselves in any order. Two of these must be true and one must be fictional. The remaining players now have to guess which statement is a lie. As soon as each player has submitted their tip, the lie can be revealed.
Free Party Games: 2. Charades
In charades, you divide yourself into two groups and write different terms on individual small pieces of paper (e.g. professions, animals, objects, film titles...).
A group now begins to guess as many of these terms as possible in a predetermined time (e.g. 5 minutes, you can run this with a cell phone timer). The highlight: The person looking at the pieces of paper is not allowed to speak, but rather pantomimes the term. The group that guesses the most terms at the end wins.

Free Party Games: 3. Who am I?
A real party game classic is of course Who am I? All you need are a few pens and sticky notes. Each party guest gets someone else's name stuck on their forehead and then has to guess who they are. You can set additional rules, for example that the other guests are only allowed to answer the questions with yes or no.
Free party games: 4. I've never...
Another icebreaker that can get pretty slippery after a few drinks is Never Have I Ever... Here's how it works:
Each player takes turns starting a sentence with “I have never…” and ending it with something he or she has never done before. If anyone in the group of players has already done this thing, he or she has to take a sip.
Example: Player A says “I have never stolen anything.”
Now all players who have already stolen something in their lives have to drink.
Here we have collected more funny I've never asked questions for you:
- ... lied to my partner
- ...picked my nose
- ... farted in public
- ... I love you said
- ... peed in the swimming pool
- ...laughed when a child fell
- ...lied in the interview
- ... get a parking ticket
- …met someone famous
