Fliggy, the Alibaba travel platform, has opened a “hotel of the future”. The FlyZoo Hotel is located in Hangzhou, a city near Shanghai, and uses numerous technologies from the Chinese company. For example, guests can book their hotel rooms online. All reservations for the 290 rooms are made exclusively via app. Among other things, tourists can choose the floor themselves and also have the opportunity to specify the desired orientation of the hotel room when booking. Check-in can also be done before arrival using the same app, and hotel guests also have access to a self-service kiosk in the lobby.
If desired, tourists can use their biometric data instead of their room card. The hotel rooms are equipped with modern facial recognition technology. For example, the door can be opened with a smile. The elevators are also equipped with biometric technology and can be activated by hotel guests without a room card.

There are Tmall Genie voice devices in all hotel rooms, which were developed by the Alibaba Group for room control. Tmall Genie is a voice control device that integrates the functions of an intelligent personal assistant. It is the Chinese alternative to Amazon's voice assistant - the Echo Smart Speaker. Among other things, the curtains can be opened and closed using voiceRegulate lighting, turn the TV on and off and control the room temperature. Room service is also available in the new hotel; after an order, a robot brings the food and drinks to the room.
Andy Wang, the manager of the “Hotel of the Future”, explained that the combination of the latest technologies and the hospitality of the Chinese people creates the hotel's distinctive charm.
