30 years of the World Wide Web - What will happen in the future?

On March 11, 1989, Tim Berners-Lee, a British computer programmer working at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), submitted a proposal for an information management system. This proposal was the first sketch of the future World Wide Web that functions on the Internet today.

The largest and most successful computer and video game trade fair, Gamescom, will also take place in Cologne this year. The industry association has extended its contract with Köln Messe GmbH, the term is not yet known.

Gamescom first enjoyed great popularity as a game convention in Leipzig. The leadership of the game association later decided to change the exhibition venue to Cologne. The first Gamescom trade fair took place there in 2009.

Gamescom, now the world's largest computer and video game trade fair, had an exhibition area of ​​over 200,000 m² in 2018, and 1,037 exhibitors from all over the world presented their latest software and hardware products to more than 370,000 visitors. The game festival celebrated a record number of visitors (an increase of 15,000 compared to last year) on its tenth anniversary. Due to the increased concentration of visitors, there was a crowd in some halls. Gamers waited for hours to try out new games. This year, the management promised to improve the organization and optimize the quality of stay.

In 2019, the event starts on August 20th and ends on August 24th. Opening hours on the first two days are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., then from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The prices for day tickets are between 9 and 35 euros. Advance sales started on March 4th.The trade fair areawill be divided into two areas: Dealers and developers will meet on the first day in a private area where they can conduct business. The public area will open its doors next day to hobby gamers and the general public, who can check out the new games and technology innovations.
