Additional improper brushing and a toothbrush with bristles that are too hard or using a very strong toothpaste also contribute.

Other reasons include eating excessively acidic foods and recurrent vomiting in the case of an eating disorder. Although lateral receding of the gums is inevitable with increasing age, it canwith poor oral hygieneand chronic gingivitis are still being accelerated.

Take countermeasures

Once a specialist diagnoses tooth sensitivity, they most often recommend using a toothbrush with superfine and flexible bristles, as well as desensitizing toothpaste and oral irrigators.

However, there are some basic rules to follow to reduce the symptoms of sensitive teeth. First, avoid brushing your teeth too vigorously and aggressively. Get a fine toothbrush and use it systematically in different areas of your mouth, always in the same order.

Before proceeding with brushing, you should wait about an hour after eating or drinking acidic substances, as these tend to soften tooth enamel and make it more sensitive.
