Actress Evan Rachel Wood reveals shocking allegations of abuse against Marilyn Manson in a new documentary

In the new documentary "Phoenix Rising," Evan Rachel Wood says she was "essentially raped on camera." This happened when she filmed the music video for Marilyn Manson's "Heart-Shaped Glasses" in 2007. The video shows the actress wearing a heart-shaped one inspired by the movie “Lolita.”Wears glassesand has sex with the rocker while fake blood rains down on her. She was 19 years old at the time. Wood claims in the documentary that she was barely conscious enough to object on set because of too much absinthe.

According to the activist and actress, shooting the music video was not what she imagined. “We did things that were not what was suggested to me. We first discussed a simulated sex scene. When the cameras were rolling he started to really penetrate me. I never agreed to that. It was complete chaos. I didn't feel safe. Nobody cared about me.” Wood told Rolling Stone magazine in the documentary. She continues: “It was a really traumatizing experience making the video. I didn't know how to advocate for myself or say no because I had been conditioned and trained to never talk back and just persevere. I felt disgusting and that I had done something shameful and noticed that the crew was uncomfortable and no one knew what to do.”

Evan Rachel Wood has spoken out several times in the past about how her ex Marilyn Manson "horribly abused" her from 2006 to 2011. Regarding “Heart-Shaped Glasses,” the rocker made it clear to her how she should promote the music video in interviews. “I was supposed to tell people that we had this great, romantic time, and none of that was the truth,” says Wood. “But I was afraid of doing anything that would upset Manson in any way. The video was just the beginning of the violence that would escalate over the course of the relationship.” The Amy Berg-directed documentary “Phoenix Rising” celebrated its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
