“ALF” star Max Wright has died. Wright died on Wednesday at his home in Hermosa Beach, California, after a decade-long battle with cancer, American media reported. He was 75 years old. According to TMZ, the actor was diagnosed with lymphatic cancer in 1995.
Women exposed to triclosan are more likely to develop osteoporosis, according to a new study. This is shown by results of a new study published in the “Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism of the Endocrine Society”. Previous research has suggested that triclosan may affect thyroid and reproductive hormones.
Triclosan is an antibacterial agent commonly used in consumer and personal care products, including soaps, hand sanitizers,toothpasteand mouthwash. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has also banned triclosan from over-the-counter hand sanitizers in recent years.

For the current study, Li and colleagues explored data on 1,848 women in the United States and found that those with the highest urinary triclosan levels were two and a half times more likely to suffer from osteoporosis than women with the lowest triclosan levels.
The study was not a controlled experiment to prove whether or how triclosan might directly cause osteoporosis. But it is possible that exposure to high doses of triclosan triggers changes in the production of thyroid hormones and estrogen that interfere with normal skeletal development and the maintenance of healthy bones in old age, Li said.
“Although more research is needed to prove whether triclosan directly causes osteoporosis, it still makes sense to avoid using products that contain the active chemical,” said Luz Claudio, an environmental medicine and public health researcher at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.
