A private house with beautiful views of the nearby ocean coast in southeastern Australia was designed in 2015 by Steve Domoney Architects in full connection with the surrounding landscape. The materials used - wooden beams and limestone - harmonize with the surroundings and create a cozy atmosphere indoors and outdoors.
Wooden beams and limestone combined in a modern way – a beach house in Australia
The design, both inside and outside, relies on contrasts and authentic textures. The design is simple, very straight-lined, harmoniously balanced between dark shades and white, elegant looks. The large-format facade elements andPanoramic windowmade of steel convey a stable, sustainable structure with a distinctive design.
Combination of materials for outside and inside
The materials used, such as steel,Variations of wooden beamsand limestone are effectively combined with each other and can be seen as distinctive stylistic elements in the design of the garden, the facade and the interior of the house.
Steel and wooden beams combined in a modern way - terrace on the upper floor
The steel elements - such as facade panels, glazing construction, etc., provide structure and give the house or interior clear contours. The floor is laid with the same material indoors and outdoors -Limestone in a natural warm cream color. In the kitchen, the same is polished to a particularly shiny finish and combined with brushed stainless steel. Perhaps the main element of the room design is the distinctive texture and massive elements made of wooden beams. The authentic, slightly smoked surface can be seen in several versions - as wall or ceiling cladding, interior doors and wall shelves, in the interior of the house.
