Beem pendant lights LED - modern lights with playful shapes and presence

The British designer Samuel Wilkinson has unveiled the first two designs of his new light brand Beem. Its first collection consists of two pendant lights LED, the design of which is characterized by curved, straight or spiral lines. The creation of the Beem luminous bodies was announced in April during the Milan design week. The first collection of the brand was presented by Wilkinson as part of the autumn/winter collection of the Conran Shop.

The latest LED technology was used with flexible luminous emissions for the two designs, smile and curli. Namely, this technology makes it possible to create the light bulbs in their playful forms. Historically, the design of the light bulbs is an area that has developed over the years at a slow pace. The technology at that time has only a limited possibility forVariations of the formoffered.

The progress in the LED lamps with flexible luminous bodies enable the designers to express their creativity and to develop so far not realizable forms. Been is the first brand worldwide to implement this technology in such an artistic way.

The lamp is characterized by a simple, graphic design. Smile consists of a single glass rod that is provided with a flexible glow thread and is attached to a ceramic base. The elegant light body occurs in three different shapes-a Uform, a slightly arched curve that resembles a smiley and a straight line.

The curli models look like a light vertebrae. Inspired by the decorative calligraphy, Curli has the shape of a continuous asymmetrical spiral that wraps around the lamp carrier.

Wilkinson is of the opinion that the market is saturated with light bulbs in retro style. For this reason, he has a clear goal in mind, namely creating contemporary forms. The designers have found that the previous lamps have always been created downwards as if they were flowing out. The two Beem pendant lights LED should do exactly the opposite. Such forms that go up and separate the individual parts visually from each other were created.

Thanks to the new technology, the lights donate a warm and bright light and consume as little energy as possible. The two pendant lights LED can be hung individually or arranged in groups. An innovative rotating mechanism that is hidden inside makes it possible that the lights can easily be adapted to the surrounding incandescent lamps.
