Harry Potter cake decoration – This is how you can make a magic wand yourself
Licorice Wands are candy sold in the Honeypot Candy Shop. However, if you don't like licorice, you can try this version with molasses. These wands are made from simple ingredients and also have an easy level of difficulty. They are also perfect as a sweet treatSnacks for the children's buffet.
Prep: 10 minutes / Cook: 20-30 minutes / Cool: 1 hour or longer / Shape: 15 minutes
Ingredients for about 12 – 18 wands:
5 tablespoons butter and some more for the baking tray
150g sugar
85 g Melasse
60 ml sweetened condensed milk
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
Pinch of cinnamon
60 g Allzweckmehl
Lightly butter a square baking pan (24 x 24 cm) and then line it with a piece of lightly buttered baking paper. Allow the edges of the parchment paper to curl upward so that you can easily remove the candy once it has cooled.
Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat then add the sugar, molasses, evaporated milk, cocoa powder and cinnamon. Bring to a boil and cook, stirring frequently to prevent the bottom from burning, until the mixture reaches about 250°F (115°C). Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the flour. Work quickly and make sure no lumps remain. Then pour the batter into the prepared baking pan. Let cool for about an hour.
Once the mixture is cool to the touch, remove from the baking pan and place on a cutting board. Cut long thin triangles from the large square using a large sharp knife. Start at the wider end and twist each triangle in toward the tip. Don't worry if they aren't even, because every wand is different! These chocolate wands are best enjoyed the same day, but can be stored between layers of baking paper in an airtight container for a few days or longer. If you want to use a wand as a cake decoration, it is best to add it before serving the cake.
The four houses
Each of the four founders of Hogwarts - Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Salazar Slytherin and Rowena Ravenclaw - have their own house at the school. The Sorting Hat recognizes the character traits of every school starter and determines which house they fit best into. The particularly courageous are in House Gryffindor, the clever are in House Ravenclaw, the hard-working and loyal are in House Hufflepuff and the cunning are in House Slytherin. Each of the students feels a strong sense of belonging to their school.

Unicorn cakeshave been totally trendy for several years! And Harry Potter is one of the most popular characters among children worldwide. Then why not combine these two trends? So the cute unicorns now get round glasses instead of rainbow colors and glitter.
