May 25th was Father's Day. The moment to think about a suitable gift for men. But even after this important day, there are still opportunities to give gifts to the men in our lives - be it for a birthday, an anniversary or just because. But what is on offer here? Just as there are now a variety of different giveaways for women, some clever minds have also come up with gift ideas for men. And here the focus is often on outdoors and adventure. Example: With a quad you can sometimes go off-road on guided tours. And anyone who has always wanted to feel several hundred horsepower under the hood doesn't necessarily have to drive a super sports car. Sometimes driving a tank is just more fun.
Quad tours for men: adventures on four wheels
Going off-road on four wheels – who doesn’t dream of that as a man? Quads are a recreational trend that started a few years ago. At first glance, the quads are reminiscent of a combination of a motorcycle and a car. Due to the special design and tires, these are ideal off-road vehicles.
The quad has now turned from a work tool into a leisure activity. Professionally organized tours are now offered almost everywhere - and arean ideal gift for menwho have always wanted to get out and about off the road. Depending on the price, the journey time varies. Tip: A highlight are real tours that not only take you along an appropriately prepared course, but also into the surrounding area.
Tank Driver: Tanks drive without the barracks yard sound
In Germany, compulsory military service was suspended in 2011. Since 2011, young adults have no longer had to join the Bundeswehr and complete basic military training. Understood by some as a reaction to the zeitgeist and the changing threat situation, one thing remains with men for years - the fascination with heavy equipment. Armored personnel carriers and battle tanks or anti-aircraft artillery vehicles still cause amazement.
Driving excavators in your free time is no longer a problem these days. But get into a tank and drive the monster through the terrain? What was a real niche and often ridiculed just a few years ago has increasingly become a trend. Even if no one really wants to see tanks in action, anyone who has been able to drive several of the monsters with several tons of weight and several hundred horsepower “under the hood” through the terrain is impressed.
Tank rides are now not only offered on vehicles from the former Eastern Bloc. Military vehicles from the Bundeswehr or Wehrmacht have also found their way into the provider's arsenal. These include, among others:
– the Marder armored personnel carrier
– the Flakpanzer Gepard
– the M48 main battle tank
– the StuG III tank destroyer.
This very special gift costs between 150 euros and 400 euros. The motto is: the more expensive the pleasure, the more unusual the whole thing. Instead of 60 minutes, the trips here quickly last 3 hours to 4 hours - and different vehicles are driven.
Whiskey tasting – discovering a passion
Water of life – gourmets will now know what it’s all about. We're talking about whiskey (or whiskey, depending on the spelling). Whiskey was only mentioned in the 15th century. But whiskey was probably created much earlier. Today he is, among other things, in:
– Scotland
– Ireland/Northern Ireland
– USA
manufactured. However, these traditional whiskey producers have faced competition in recent years. Even in Germany, some distilleries have specialized in the spirit. What does a high-quality whiskey taste like? Anyone who has ever dealt with this question will have stumbled upon whiskey tastings. The latter are not only a perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of whiskey - with the help of experts. The tastings also offer the chance to learn one or two tricks. For example, the view still holds that whiskey is always drunk from a tumbler (glass with a thick bottom) and over ice. True connoisseurs are sure to get more than a cold shiver down their spine when drinking whiskey this way.
Oldies & Goldies:Traveling with classic cars
The car is a man's favorite child - this credo is no coincidence. And that's why cars are often given special care. The love of some car fans goes so far that the cars of children and young people receive a lot of attention. We are of course talking about vintage cars – i.e. motor vehicles that are at least 30 years old.
Some classics are particularly popular with car fans - like one
– Ford Mustang (built 1964 to built 1973)
– Alfa Romeo Spider
– Corvette Stingray etc.
The problem: The value of a classic car can quickly increase by a few hundred percent (compared to the introductory price). The most expensive classic cars cost - as can be seen from media reports in the newspaper "Welt” can be read – quickly ten million euros and more.
For men, “going out” in classic cars quickly becomes expensive. The alternative is trips with the oldies - such as a Ford Mustang - which are now also offered as a gift voucher.
Conclusion: Men have fun with these gifts
Gifts for boyfriends, husbands, fathers, grandfathers, uncles or brothers often remain small things. Why not just think of something bigger - for example, combine your birthday and Christmas - to give your partner a really special gift. Who can claim to have driven a classic like the Ford Mustang or a classic battle tank – an M48? Experience gifts are often worth more than other gifts that then disappear in the closet or are sorted out again after a short time. There are certainly enough ideas. The challenge is to choose the right give away. After all, every person is different and has their own preferences and wishes. However, if you know your partner well enough, you will hardly have any major problems.
