Make your own edible Christmas presents – a wreath made of tangerines
In the hustle and bustle of the New Year, it's easy to forget something despite long shopping and to-do lists. The worst thing is when you realize you forgot to surprise someone and didn't get a gift for them! What should be done? Run to the supermarket! And not for the classic “shampoo + deodorant” set or useless knickknacks “to give away”, but for tangerines! What could be nicer than a homemade gift, and if this surprise can also be eaten - even better!
These gifts can be made in a short time
These tangerine wreaths are made with just a few materials and very quickly! You need about 10-15 minutes per wreath. Even better, you can prepare a whole box full of these sweet, fragrant surprises. Edible Christmas gifts like these are much cheaper than store-bought ones and are ideal if you want to make lots of friends happy this Christmas.
You need:
- Tangerines
- Cellophane flower foil / gift foil, transparent (clear or with motif)
- colorful cords (a simple jute cord also works)
- Bow to decorate the wreath
The size of a wreath and the number of tangerines are limited only by your wishes and the width of the gift wrap. The wreaths usually consist of six to eight tangerines.
And this is how it works:
- Lay the transparent gift wrap flat on the table. Then place the tangerines one behind the other in a row, about 1 cm apart.
- Now form the foil into a roll.
- Cut eight pieces of equal length from the string and tie each piece to the spot between the tangerines.
- Tie a string to the beginning and end of the tangerine chain and form it into a wreath.
- Tie a tag with a nice Christmas greeting or a decorative bow at the bottom.
Optionally, you can also add popcorn or gumdrops to the foil. In this case, the fruits must be washed and dried in advance! This is not necessary for individually wrapped sweets.
For an even sweeter look, you can also add some chocolate candies as decoration. Fresh pine branches are also perfect for decorating.
Would you like to surprise a friend or the hostess for the holidays? This tangerine Christmas tree has everything you need for Christmas spirit: fir green, citrus fruits and the scent of cloves! This craft project is so easy that even children can help.
To make a Christmas tree from tangerines you will need:
- Styrofoam cones (these come in different sizes)
- Tangerines
- wooden skewers
- cloves
- Scissors
- Fir branches
And this is how it works:
- Sprinkle the tangerines with cloves.
- Break the skewers into short pieces and stick them into the tangerines.
- Starting from the bottom, place the tangerines around the cone and press them down.
- Then add the second row. This time the tangerines are placed between the first row.
- Finally, shorten the fir branches with scissors and stick them between the tangerines.

Christmas arrangement in a cup
Would you like to give a friend or colleague a coffee mug for Christmas? Here is a creative idea to do this. We'll show you how you can conjure up a winter arrangement with tangerines, nuts and pine greens in just a few minutes.
You need:
- Coffee cup, 8 x 10.5 cm
- Floral foam bricks
- Cuttermesser
- cling film
- wooden skewers
- Floristenband
- Fresh fir green (Nobilis)
- 3 tangerines
- Peanuts with shell
- Pecan nuts or walnuts with shell
- Hot glue gun
1. Place the coffee cup on the floral foam and press it firmly so that an imprint appears. Then cut the floral foam according to this impression with the cutter knife and adjust it to the size of the cup.
2. Now wrap the floral foam several times in cling film and put it in the cup.
3. Shorten the wooden skewers to approx. 8-10 cm. Then pluck the tips from the pine branches and attach them to wooden skewers with florist's tape.
4. Insert the finished skewers into the floral foam so that they stand upright.
5. Insert two wooden skewers into each tangerine and shorten them with scissors. Hold the scissors at a slight angle so that the ends become nicely pointed.
6. Place the skewers with the tangerines in the middle of the floral foam.
7. To add the finishing touch to the winter arrangement with tangerines, fill in the gaps with nuts. These are fixed again on shortened wooden skewers. For hard-shelled nuts like pecans, hazelnuts, or walnuts, you can use hot glue. The shell of the peanuts, on the other hand, can be easily pierced with a wooden skewer.
