Natural stone floors and wood for chic naturalness in the apartment

A modern apartment impresses with its distinctive, cozy character thanks to the clever use of natural materials. Except for the bedrooms, all other areas have natural stone floors and wood for the walls and ceiling. The interior design thanks to such high-quality materials is not only contemporary, but timeless and always current. You will find out more about the interesting solutions and facilities from the Mexico-based architecture and design studio Taller David Dana (TDDA) soon.

Pure nature: natural stone floors and wood

The elegant apartment has acombined living and dining area. Attached to this is a special highlight - house bar with wine counter and chic seating. This can be reached from the living area through beautiful rotating panels or floor-to-ceiling functional doors made of solid wood. This transition area is considered a design feature of the apartment, as is the suspended ceiling made of wooden slats. The ceiling paneling is characterized by an unusual structure and serves as an eye-catcher in the otherwise simply designed rooms. It runs across the entire common room and merges into an interesting wall design in the living room.

The designers and interior architects chose travertine for the natural stone floor. It is also called antique marble and impresses with onewarm effect. The warm impression of the wood is perfectly complemented by the brown tones of the natural stone. In the living room it is not only on the floor, but also as decorative panels on the walls. In the private rooms the travertine is replaced by cozy wooden flooring, but is still present in other details.

The kitchen is separated from the dining and living area and is therefore very functionally furnished. The area is not spacious, but completely sufficient. The furnishings are minimalist and designed in black and white. In the middle there is a kitchen island with a hob and a stainless steel extractor hood above it. There are seating areas opposite the cooking area and if you're in a hurry, you can enjoy your meal without any hassle. You not only enjoy the dish, but also the beautiful urban view.

The large window fronts, some of which are covered with frosted glass foil, let in lots of natural light. This in combination with the snow-white kitchen fronts strengthens the radiant effect of the room. Here the flooring is also made of travertine and the wood is not left out as a design element in the interior. A little to the side and visually separated is a section of wooden cabinets.

The master bedroom is dominated by wood and the wonderful light coming through the large window wall. Regarding the furnishings, all you see is a large double bed and a dining unit made of dark wood and shelves closed with smoked glass.

The modern apartment has a master bathroom with shower and bathtub and a separate guest toilet. The furnishings are high quality and made exclusively of natural stone and wood. In the larger bathroom, the walls and floor are completely covered with travertine tiles. The washbasin with double sink and the dressing table are made of wood. In the guest toilet, the dark wall paneling dominates in front of the travertine panels and the room divider with open wooden shelves. Nevertheless, the white plumbing and the simple design have a positive effect.

Regardless of whether it is modern or country house style, almost all styles have one thing in common - using entirely natural materials if possible. Natural stone and wood are perfect here because they are durable and can be combined in a variety of exciting combinations.
