If you want to improve the quality of your compost heap and therefore the health of your plants, you should try this unusual and simple method. And that's not all that a cola offers. If you have excess party cola, you can use it for your spring and summer gardening plans. Like it or not, Coca-Cola is a global phenomenon when it comes to selling drinks. It has several practical uses in gardening. Below are some of the many ways Coca-Cola can be useful in the garden.

Cola as an aid in the garden – fertilizing plants

Citric acid is one of the many acids found in Coca-Cola. For this reason, it is an unexpectedly effective cleaning agent. The plants can also benefit from these acids. Low pH fertilizers are ideal for acid-loving plants. Not to mention, Coke is reliable. Instead of putting Coca-Cola directly on plants or their roots, try pouring a small amount into the soil around their roots in the garden. Plants like these can benefit from using cola: hydrangeas, astilbes, foxgloves and azaleas.

Keep this in mind: Wait a moment before watering your azaleas or hydrangeas with a full liter of Coca-Cola. It is important that you protect the plants. You need to know how much to water and how often to water for this cola concept to be successful. All you have to do is pour 120ml of your favorite cola directly into the ground. As mentioned, do not apply them directly to the plants.

You shouldn't do this every day. Every now and then you should water your plants with cola. The genetic composition of Cola, which contains components such as potassium, carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, phosphorus, sulfur and sodium, allows it to promote the growth of azaleas, hydrangeas, among others.

Natural compost improver

The drink is an excellent natural compost improver due to its sugar and sweetness. If you have leftover Coke, you don't need to buy a compost starter. Coca-Cola is an excellent fuel for the natural microbes in your compost pile and speeds the decomposition of green and brown materials. All you have to do is top up the pile with a can every week. The acidity of soda also promotes decomposition.

The drink against snails

Many people use poison to kill snails, others lure them with beer so they will drink. What about Coca-Cola? Do snails die when they come into contact with cola? Apparently beer works on the same concept. Pour some Coca-Cola into a small bowl and leave it in the garden overnight. The snails are attracted by the sugar in this drink. It can be assumed that other insects also find Coca-Cola attractive because it is attractive to snails.

Make your own wasp trap

Use Coca-Cola as bait to catch and kill wasps if you have a problem with their frequent visits to your garden. Hang the Coke bottle on a tree branch or other open spot in your yard after punching holes in the bottle. The sugary liquid attracts the bugs and they drown.

Fight ants and cockroaches

Other insects, including ants and cockroaches, have also reportedly died after drinking Coca-Cola. In such cases, the cola is sprayed on the pests. It appears to be cheaper than commercial insecticides. However, the manufacturer insists that its drink does not contain any pesticide-like ingredients.

Control pests such as mealybugs and aphids

A bottle of Diet Coke without sugar is enough to control pests because the sugar in regular Coca-Cola attracts ants. Before the fizzy foam caused by the carbon dioxide in the cola disappears, pour the mixture into a spray bottle and spray it immediately on the pests.

When it comes to removing moss or weeds from patios, garden paths and walls, Coca-Cola works wonders. The phosphoric acid contained in the cola kills any moss that may have already settled there.

Get a bottle of Coca-Cola and spray it on the surface in bright sunshine. In addition to the acid, the heat of the sun kills the weeds in no time.
