Perfect for terrace and balcony, if the space is not enough in the garden! Among other things, zucchini are perfect for planting tubs. But since they usually crawl, they also need a suitable support to grow up. What can you make a tanks for zucchini in a pot? It's easier than expected!
Stable but uncomplicated: zucchini plants do not need complex climbing aids
While some climbing plants need larger grids so that their tendrils can hold on well, as a climbing aid for zucchini in the pot or bed, even a simple staff is sufficient. It is more about supporting the heavy shoots and leaves than letting them climb. The exception is the climbing zucchini, which can be up to 2 meters tall and should also be bound.

It is important that the climbing aid can be put deep enough to stand stable. So the bucket should not be too flat - 26 liters are fine. Nevertheless, you can also use other types of climbing aids if you like it better. How about it:
Use simple rods
As already mentioned, it is usually sufficient to put wood or metal rods (bamboo is also very good) into the ground. These should be as close as possible to the plant, but be careful not to damage the roots when sticking. So if you feel a resistance, try another place. It is advantageous to add the tanks for zucchini in the pot when planting the plant, because then the roots have not yet spread so far and the earth is even more looser and easier to drill through.
Over time, you can also bind the thick stems to the rod with a rope or thicker cord if necessary, if you should find that it is no longer sufficient as a loose support.
Tomato tower as a tanning aid for zucchini in the pot
The practical tomato tower consists of thinner wire rods, but the zucchini plant can still hold it well due to the square shape, since the weight is distributed over the four sides. This also gives the grille a stable stand without having to be stuck particularly deeply. Simply plant the young plants in the intended pot and also add the tomato tower right away. Inside, the plant can then grow comfortably its shoots and leaves. Lift the leaves up so that they lie on the first horizontal rods. These are also protected against the soil moisture and mold formation is prevented by better air circulation.
Choose a tanks for zucchini in the pot, which is slightly larger and more stable. A width of 40 to 50 cm and a height of 1.2 to 1.5 meters is optimal. The climbing aid should not necessarily become narrower upwards, since the zucchini becomes wider over time. If you have already got a cone -shaped variant, just put it upside down, so with the narrower end, into the earth.
Useful and decorative at the same time with a grid on the wall
If you set up the pots along the house facade, you will also receive a temporary, usefulGreening for the house wall. Attach a tendril to the wall and let the plants climb! First they will decorate the area with their large yellow flowers and later with the ripening fruits until they are ready for harvesting. You bind the shoots at regular intervals, so whenever you notice that the weight pulls it forward, with a thick but soft wire. A wide fabric band is also suitable.
