In order for the knight's star to fill a glass well, you should care for it properly. The flower requires little water; waterlogging can cause major damage. To avoid this, do not plant the amaryllis in soil, but place the bulb and roots directly in the glass and fill in the gaps with moss. Spray the moss regularly with water, the natural material will soak up and then gradually release moisture and nourish the amaryllis.

A second variant would be to put the amaryllis in a hyacinth glass. In this case, the onion must not touch the surface of the water. If you want, you can fill a few more glass balls into the glass. If you choose this option, you should make sure that the water always remains clean. It's best to change the water regularly, rinse the glass and add new, boiled water. Add a 5 cent copper coin to the water. Copper is well known for its antibacterial properties and can prevent rot from forming in glass.

AfterEnd of flowering periodThe amaryllis must be transplanted into a pot with substrate. You can use ordinary potting soil for this purpose, cover the bulb halfway with it and then water regularly. The flower is only fertilized after about a month and a half.

The beautiful winter decoration with fresh flowers is now complete. Together with Christmas balls and a red bow, the amaryllis in a glass makes a particularly effective Christmas decoration. Our tip: Choose a satin bow tone-on-tone with the flower color. So the decoration for the coffee table is ready.

The onion looks particularly attractive when it is covered with a white layer of wax. For this purpose you will need: white candles or leftover candles, an empty and clean metal tin and glitter. Simply melt the candles in a water bath first and then dip the onion into the wax. Wait until the first thin layer of wax dries thoroughly, then dip it back into the wax. Repeat this process two to 4 times. Then brush or spray the bulb with glitter. Place the finished waxed amaryllis bulb in a glass and arrange with tree branches, cones and silver Christmas tree decorations.

As soon as the flowering period is over, carefully peel off the wax layers. Be particularly careful with the roots - if you snap or cut them off, the flower can no longer be saved and you will have to throw it away. Only remove spent flowers if the stems and leaves dry out. Only then can you cut off all parts of the plant above ground. Place the bulb in a pot and cover with desert plant substrate. This has better permeability, so waterlogging cannot form. Water the flower as usual. In the first two months after flowering, it does not need any additional nutrients. From March you can give it fertilizer. Put them down in early May. From the beginning of August until the beginning of the flowering period, place the amaryllis in a cool place and no longer water it. The exotic needs this break so that it can properly prepare for the upcoming flowering period.
