The gutter is then connected to the barrel and with every shower, the water is collected in it. This allows you to water the green area for free and use any system at the same time. Rainwater is also much better tolerated by plants than water from the tap that has been purified with chemicals.
The pump
In order to be able to use well or rainwater, a pump is required that connects the water source to the irrigation system. It has a suction hose that draws the water from the source. Connected to the garden hose, you can then conveniently water the plants either manually or automatically using a system.
Sprinkler system
The sprinkler system is the simplest, almost completely automatic variant for irrigation. The hose is simply connected to the sprinkler and the artificial rain begins, whereby the sprinkler can move back and forth due to the water pressure in order to moisten a larger area. This irrigation system in the garden is probably the most cost-effective, but it has the disadvantage that you at least have to be present to turn the water on and off again. If the outdoor area is larger, the sprinkler must either be changed regularly or several sprinklers must be combined with each other. The sprinklers can also be chosen depending on the shape of the green area. Accordingly, there are those that are better suited to a square garden and those that look better in a round one.
Drip irrigation
Drip irrigation is particularly practical for beds. Both flowers and vegetable plants are moistened directly at the roots and in the right amount. This ensures extremely economical irrigation and is thereforemore efficient and environmentally friendlythan the sprinklers, for example. Since the water is not splashed with this system, damp facades or even annoying water splashes on the windows are avoided. The above-ground parts of the plant are just as little moistened. This prevents them from burning and also significantly reduces the risk of fungal infestation. If your flower bed is on a slope, this is not a problem for drip irrigation, provided you use a high-quality model. Steep areas are no longer a problem!
Potted plants and hedges
Hedges and even potted plants can also be perfectly watered thanks to drip irrigation. You can water the amount depending on the needs of each plant, ensuring lush growth and breathtaking blooms. Plants arranged in rows are specifically moistened by this system. This also makes it more difficult for weeds to form, so this will also be kept to a minimum thanks to the latest technologies. Thanks to some systems, potted plants can also be fertilized with irrigation. The system perfectly carries out the correct amount and the time interval between the individual fertilization periods.
Innovative irrigation system for the lawn
Drip irrigation is also offered specifically for lawns. The system is installed under the lawn, which eliminates the problem of evaporation. This practical irrigation system in the garden is not only effective but also pleasant in the sense that you can use the lawn even while watering. Garden furniture and other things don't have to be moved every time. The soil is moistened directly at the roots of the lawn, i.e. exactly where the grass needs it.
Digital irrigation control
If you want a fully automated system, irrigation computers are an excellent option. You can easily set the duration, frequency and exact time so that your presence is no longer required when it's time to water plants. This also saves you valuable time without having to forego a green and pleasant garden. When choosing a computer, make sure it is a waterproof model. Since the faucet to which the computer is connected is usually outdoors, it could otherwise be damaged by rain and would have to be removed every time in bad weather.
Computer with humidity sensor
Digital irrigation control is particularly beneficial when on vacation. During this time you will have to worry about your plants, hire someone in terms of time and possibly even at your expense. The irrigation system in winter
Since irrigation is not necessary in winter, the entire system should be prepared for this. First of all, the outdoor water needs to be turned off. Pipes that are outside or where water could freeze in winter must be opened and the water drained. Otherwise the pipes could burst. Systems integrated into the ground should also be freed from water. Both pumps and other devices must be stored in a dry place so that they do not suffer damage in the cold season.
