Stepping stones are the quickest and easiest way to create a garden path cheaply. The advantage is that very little digging is required. Since there is space between the stones, you don't have to worry about them not being perfectly aligned. And even though the stone is heavy, flagstone paths cost less because you can fill a large area with little material. Flat panels that are about 45cm wide and 5cm thick are ideal. If you are to lay a long stone slab path, ask a supplier to help you determine the right quantity and have the stone delivered.
