Create and plant a mini garden pond in a mortar bucket – DIY idea

Building a mini garden pond in a bucket yourself is not that difficult and adds a visually appealing accent to the garden. Instead of keeping the container above the ground, where it is sensitive to temperature changes, lower a pot into the ground so that the soil surrounds it. The mini pond in the garden looks particularly attractive when surrounded by other plants and covered with natural stones.

1.Dig up. Dig a hole slightly larger and deeper than the mortar bucket so that its edge is flush with the surface of the soil. Level the bottom of the hole and add a layer of sand or gravel if necessary.

2. Place the mortar bucket in the hole.Place the mortar bucket in the hole and fill the gap around it with sand, gravel or excavated earth to ensure the bucket is secured in the hole.

3. Planting.Fill the mortar bucket with water and let it sit for several days before adding water lily, lotus or three to five small potted plants and floating aquatic plants. You can camouflage the pot with flat stones so that it blends in with the surroundings.
