Topics for painting therapy: What is close to your heart?
The next exercise is suitable for both adults and children. Little ones often find it difficult to describe their own feelings. Children are often ashamed to talk to adults and find it much easier to tell stories or process trauma through play or painting. This painting exercise can serve as orientation for the therapist. Participants receive a heart template. Ask participants to color the heart, with each color they use representing a mood. Happy, sad, worried, scared, angry or frustrated: everyone can express what is close to their heart in such a picturesque way.
