Atmospheric furnishings with a modern touch – apartment in Cape Town

Everyone certainly wants to feel comfortable in their own home, and the interior design contributes to this to a large extent. That's why you should use materials and furniture indoors that create a comfortable, inviting living ambience. Architecture studio Greg Wright Architects took this exact concept into consideration when designing this beautiful dream home. The apartment is located in Cape Town, the capital of South Africa, and impresses with an atmospheric atmosphere inside. The materials used speak for a modern living style, which is complemented by upbeat accents. This creates an atmospheric interior that invites you to linger.

As you enter the house, you enter a wide, light-filled, double-height hallway with windows on the ceiling that create a dramatic effect. Right at the entrance, the apartment welcomes you with an atmospheric wall decoration in the form of a mural. Similar murals adorn the walls in many other areas of the house and serve ascolorful accents in the interior. In this way, the atmosphere is relaxed and a friendly interior design is created.

The hallway leads seamlessly into the living room, where the atmospheric furnishings welcome the visitor. A colorful, large-format mural adorns the area above the double-sided fireplace and is in harmony with the rest of the color accents in the room, namely the ottomans, armchairs and pillowcases. The colorful furnishings and home accessories form a contrast to the modern, gray couch and serve as visual highlights in the living area.

The living room opens onto a covered terrace with bar, lounge area and pool. In this way, the boundaries between inside and outside can be completely eliminated when the weather is nice. You can let off steam on the terrace, relax in the swimming pool or enjoy the beautiful sea view. The dream house is also located at the foot of a mountain and therefore offers beautiful views in both directions.

On the other side of the fireplace in the living area are the dining area and kitchen. The focus here is on wood combined with black. Five elegant copper pendant lights decorate the space above the table and harmonize perfectly with the rest of the furnishings. Behind the dining table there is a counter with bar stools.

Next to the dining area there is also the kitchen, which is decorated in the same color scheme. Black worktops, a black kitchen island and kitchen fronts in matt black and wood give the whole room a modern touch. In this area, too, atmospheric furnishings are created with the help of colorful pictures on the walls.

Opposite the kitchen there is a small courtyard that is richly planted and has a modern design. This small garden features a water feature and interesting garden sculptures. A high, planted wall serves as a kind of privacy screen and ensures the privacy of the outdoor area.

A double-height glass wall separates the courtyard from the house and allows a clear view of it. Next to the wall is the staircase that leads to the upper floor. It is constructed of wood and black metal and features glass railings so as not to block the view of the small garden.

At the top of the stairs you reach a landing that overlooks the living area and the courtyard below. The atmospheric furnishings and decoration with murals also play an important role in this area.

The bedroom is visually divided into two separate areas, with the bed placed on a small wooden podium. The other part of the room features atmospheric furnishings with a modern touch, as the designers have mainly used gray and purple. Thecozy corner sofaoffers another place to rest and the large mural above adds a nice accent.

In addition to the largest bedroom, there is also a home office for two people, which is again furnished in a modern style. Both the home office and the bedroom have wide sliding glass doors that lead to a beautiful roof garden. There, residents can relax outdoors and enjoy the beautiful view.

The bathroom is equally spacious and offers plenty of storage space in the long wooden vanity unit. A large window offers a view of the sea and lets daylight into the room.

The second bedroom is on the ground floor and has a small, private garden. When the sliding glass doors are pushed to the side, there is a seamless transition between the bedroom and the garden.

The house also has a private wine cellar, designed specifically for the residents' large wine collection.
