The Iranian architect Mohammad Yazdani recently realized his project for a modern single-family home made entirely of concrete. It features geometric architecture and minimalist interiors in white and gray. Despite the reduced use of colors and materials, the interior of the house appears bright and cozy. The focus is primarily on the white tones and there are deliberately no strong color accents. The colors and furnishings should radiate peace and security.
Concrete house with geometric architecture
Today, interior architecture and design are increasingly using the non-colors black, white and gray. There are countless shades of these that look fresh, warm or radiant and white is not always the same as white. Combined withdifferent materialsand colors and in different lighting conditions, white and gray tones have become an integral part of modern interior design. You should keep the whole house in mind and develop an overall concept, and not just choose a nice shade of white or gray.
Keep itsimple
The modern house impresses from the outside with the minimal use of materials, primarily concrete and also glass, which is almost visually invisible due to its transparency. The idea of simplicity and reduced design is also understandable indoors. “Keep it simple” and “Less is more” are mottos that minimalism obeys. Bright areas, lots of open space and few, but lovingly selected pieces of furniture and dark or strong colors only as accents are characteristic of the Scandinavian and purist living style. Last but not least, it is due to the color scale. White serves as the basis and is combined with elegant and reserved gray or beige tones.
The countless shades of white also include the light wood look that can be found in this wonderfulminimalist concrete houseis presented in the form of floor covering or wall shelves for books. As a natural material, wood fits perfectly to the strict shapes and edges. To avoid a rustic country house look, the wooden surfaces are only treated with light wood stain. The indirect lighting exudes a pleasant, warm light that creates a cozy atmosphere in the minimalist house.
