Clock by Ulysse Nardin - precise handcraft

Ulysse Nardin presented its latest model at Baselworld 2016. It is the Grand Deck MarinTourbillon, whose design and execution were inspired by nautical elements and more specifically the deck of a ship. In order to successfully implement this, wooden elements were incorporated into the handmade model. There is also a swivel arm that is attached to the 12 o'clock position and runs straight down, imitating the latitude used by sailors. It is used to display retrograde minutes and was also designed in a nautical way. The swivel arm of the Ulysse Nardin clock is moved from left to right with the help of fine nanowires, which in turn symbolize the ship's masts. When the swivel arm reaches 60 minutes, it is automatically returned to the 0 position.

Nautical elements

The barrel contains a flying tourbillon and is located at the 6 o'clock position. The symbol of the Ulysse Nardin brand is also shown there, namely the anchor. The barrel is powered by extremely thin fibers that are even more delicate than human hair. Two tiles are fixed at the positions of 5 and 7, which are responsible for the jumping hours. The hours are again displayed digitally. The attractive watch from Ulysse Nardin is made up of a total of 469 individual parts and a hand-wound movement. The latter is called Caliber UN-630. The attractive design will be available for approximately $293,000.
