How does acne occur?
We get up, take a look in the mirror and there it is – an annoying pimple on our face. Each of us knows this situation. There are many reasons and factorspromote the formation of acne. Depending on the severity, a distinction is made between mild, moderate and severe acne. Home remedies for acne might help you in the early stages. However, if you do not see any results after about 2 weeks or your condition has even worsened, you should definitely contact a dermatologist. The main reason for pimples or blackheads on the face is clogged sebaceous glands. To protect our skin and hair, they produce sebum. But when the glands become clogged with dead skin cells or sebum, redness and blemishes occur.
Hormonal fluctuations during puberty, pregnancy or menopause are also among the most common causes of pimples. However, there are many other factors that promote impure skin. These include, for example:
- Certain medications
- Using skin care and makeup products that are not suitable for your skin type
- An unhealthy diet and regular consumption of refined products, sugar and white flour
- Psychological factors such as stress
- Inadequate skin care
Unfortunately, there is no general answer to the question “What helps with acne?” After all, every person is different and what works wonders for some may not work at all for others. Most home remedies for pimples have a herbal origin. But you should still not forget that “natural” home remedies can also trigger allergic reactions. So before you treat your pimples with it, you should first apply the product to another area of skin (e.g. underarm) to see how your skin reacts. If you have sensitive skin, you should avoid experimenting with toothpaste and baking soda. This irritates the skin unnecessarily and we don't want that.
