But in order for us to conjure up beautiful skin and achieve flawless results, clean brushes and beauty tools are essential. When was the last time you cleaned them? Yes, we thought. But don't worry - you're definitely not the only woman who overlooks this important step. If you can't remember it, then it's high time for a deep cleaning! How often and why should you clean your make-up brushes and which home remedies are best for this? We explain all this and much more to you in our article!
Do you clean your face regularly, use face masks and spend a lot of money on skin care products and still your skin looks unclean? Then you might want to take a look at the tools you use to apply your makeup. The answer to the question of why we should clean our makeup brushes is actually quite logical. We use these almost every day to do our makeup. Accordingly, over time, more and more small color pigments accumulate there and this has several consequences. Product buildup, dirt, and dust can clog our pores, leading to inflammation and acne breakouts. In addition, bacteria thrive in moisture and we don't want to spread this on our face, right?
But clean brushes are also essential for a flawless look. If you use the same brush on many different products, they will mix together unpleasantly. The colors are then contaminated and can no longer produce the desired result. The color release of dirty beauty tools is no longer as rich as that of clean ones. Another important reason why we should clean makeup brushes regularly is of course their durability. These are usually not exactly cheap and it can be quite annoying if they are no longer usable after just a few months.
How often to clean makeup brushes?
There is no general answer to the question of how often we should clean our makeup brushes. As different as the different applications and types of brushes are, we also have to clean them differently. Depending on how often you apply makeup, the following rule applies: All brushes that come into contact with cream and liquid products such as concealers, foundations and highlighters should be cleaned at least once a week. If you have sensitive skin and are prone to acne breakouts, you should wash your brushes more often. Make-up brushes for powder textures such as bronzer and eyeshadow, on the other hand, do not need to be cleaned as often. Cleaning every two to four weeks is sufficient here. Unless you change the color - in which case you should clean the brushes thoroughly immediately before using the new color.
What do you use to clean your beauty tools?
When it comes to caring for our makeup brushes, there are many different ways we could clean them. From specially developed devices and cleaners from the drugstore to numerous home remedies - the selection is really huge! It's best to try a few methods and see what works best for you.
