A hillside property is the basis for this attractive house, which you can take a closer look at in this article. It is located in Maryland in a residential area where two or even more story houses are typical. Nevertheless, the bungalow variant was chosen for this house design in order to integrate it into the surrounding nature and create a perfect interplay of natural light and the plants. Thanks to the facade made of wooden slats, it adapts perfectly to the surroundings. Despite its one-day character, the house is divided into several areas, which we would like to discuss below.
The property basically consists of two areas. While one has more entertaining properties, the other is used for resting and relaxing. The design of the wooden privacy screen can also be found indoors in the form of partition walls, only here it is designed in white. As soon as you enter the house, you notice the impressive skylight above the living room, which allows plenty of daylight to penetrate the interior. An attractive gravel bed with houseplants adorns one of the slatted walls and brings nature indoors. While the walls, floor and ceiling were kept very light, the furniture features darker colors. For example, the modern kitchen is made of dark wood, while the sofa is gray.
In addition to the simple but attractive garden that surrounds the house, there is also an interesting courtyard that can be accessed from all sides thanks to large glass doors. The garden designed there consists of flowers, ornamental gravel and a flowering tree, all of which combine to create a Japanese garden feature. The remaining rooms also guarantee a non-stop view of the other garden. Large window fronts made of folding doors guarantee quick and comfortable passage from inside to outside and vice versa. The terrace has an attractive wooden floor, into which the pool has also been integrated. There is also no shortage of plants on the terrace. Six trees were planted in the middle of the terrace floor and provide plenty of shade when desired, while the wooden slat privacy screen creates an interesting structure for the facade.
